The Last of Us Part 1 is a remake that improves on pretty much every aspect of the original game. However, a question pretty much every person who’s on the fence about getting this game has is whether it has multiplayer.
Well, we’re here to answer this exact question while giving more relevant information that you’re sure to be interested in.
Is There Multiplayer in the Last of Us Part 1?
The Last of Us Part 1 does not have multiplayer of any kind. When we say this, we mean that there is no player-vs-player multiplayer option for the game.

Players who experienced the original game will be especially disappointed by it because of the fact that the original game had a multiplayer mode called factions. However, the developers have no plans of adding multiplayer to Part 1, not even in a future DLC. Luckily, it’s still possible to play the factions mode by playing The Last of Us remastered for the PS4.
Alternatively, you also have the option to wait for the rumored standalone multiplayer game that Naughty Dog had been working on. Perhaps the best thing about it is that it is rumored to be set in the Last of Us universe, due to which a bunch of fans of the series are eagerly awaiting it. Until then, you can enjoy the surprisingly lengthy single-player campaign.
Does the Last of Us Part 1 Have a Co-op Mode?
Unfortunately, not only does The Last of Us Part 1 not have multiplayer, but it doesn’t have any co-op either. Because of this, you have no choice but to go through the campaign alone without any outside help.
This doesn’t come as much of a surprise, however, as the original game didn’t have a co-op mode either. Since this is a rather faithful remake, we didn’t expect to have a whole new game mode.
