Resourceful players will leverage the powers of the Occultist to customize their characters and exchange rare currencies and materials for even stronger boons. How To Get the Occultist in Diablo 4
During the early levels of Diablo 4, you won’t have access to the Occultist, even if you visit their shops. However, there are two ways to unlock this NPC. You either have to reach Level 25 with your character or alternatively, you have to unlock the Codex of Power by defeating a side Dungeon to gain an Aspect reward.
Once you’ve fulfilled one of those two conditions, you will receive a Priority Quest that leads you to the Occultist in Kyovashad, Demyan. He will then offer you a brief tour of his services, and after that, you will be able to leverage the powers of any Occultist in Diablo 4.

Once you’ve unlocked the Occultist in Kyovashad, you will be able to trade with any of the others present in Sanctuary. There are five of them in total, and you can find one in each of the game’s major cities:

How To Use the Occultist
The Occultist is a potent ally when you transition into the endgame of Diablo 4. You will find yourself visiting them often to enhance and fine-tune your build. These are the main ways to use the Occultist in Diablo 4:
- Extract and Imprint Aspects
- Enchant Gear
- Craft Nightmare Sigils
Extract and Imprint Aspects
This service lets you extract affixes from legendary items to save in the inventory, or more ideally, save permanently to your Codex of Power. You can then imprint those Aspects, as well as Aspects collected in Dungeons to your rare and legendary gear to further customize it. With five types of Aspects, you will have to juggle them between different gear slots.
Enchant Gear
This service lets you re-roll an unwanted affix on rare and legendary gear for a chance to get a better one. This process costs materials, with rare gear requiring Veiled Crystals, and legendary gear requiring Fiend Rose. This can take an okay legendary item to one with extremely powerful stats.
Craft Nightmare Sigils
You can salvage unwanted Nightmare Sigils to gain Sigil Powder, which you can then use to craft more powerful Sacred and Ancestral Nightmare Sigils. These powerful items allow you to challenge harder Nightmare Dungeons during the Diablo 4 endgame.
What Does the Occultist Do?
The Occultist is a vendor NPC in Diablo 4 that provides important services aimed at endgame characters. While you can use the Occultist from the later part of the early game, the end game is when they truly shine. That is because that’s when the min-maxing process begins in earnest and players look to fine-tune their builds.
