There are dozens of weapons and upgrades in Dave the Diver, so picking the best ones can be tough. Especially if you’re just planning to go out and gather fish, you may not be sure which weapons to bring. As with many games, some weapons are better than others. Meanwhile, some weapons offer better options, depending on your goals. Here are all the weapons we’ve found in Dave the Diver and our picks for the ten best ones.

Top 10 Best Weapons in Dave the Diver

Dave the Diver starts out with just a few humble weapons. Throughout the game, he’s able to build an arsenal to make any modern prepper proud. Divided between melee, ranged, damaging, non-damaging, and other types, weapons in this game have a niche for everything. Let’s see which are the best ones.

10. Harpoon Gun with Lightning Tip

The humble Harpoon Gun can be outfitted with many different tips and augments. Arguably the best one is the Lightning tip because the damage chains to other fish on hit. This makes it a perfect weapon to take out clusters of smaller enemies in one go.

9. Shark Harpoon Gun

The ultimate upgrade to the Harpoon Gun turns it into a shark-like launcher. It does respectable 24 damage that you can then augment with different Tips. All that, while still performing everything you need from a harpoon.

8. Hush Dart

In Dave the Diver, catching and bringing back live fish is better than killing them. That’s where the Hush Dart shines. You can use it to tranquillize smaller fish and bring them back alive for extra resources. On the other hand, you can use it to neutralize larger predators for a little bit, giving you precious time to prepare or run.

7. Trigger Bomb Trap

The Trigger Bomb Trap does massive damage in a decent radius. It can put a large dent in the health of even the most vicious underwater creatures. However, the main drawback is that you have to set it up beforehand since it’s a trap that needs to be triggered. So while not the most practical weapon, when properly executed it will make some difficult fights far easier.

6. Grenade Launcher

The Grenade Launcher deals a lot of damage, as would be expected. If a shot connects, it can destroy the health of any fish you fight. But that comes with a small ammo reserve and you will also need to practice firing it. That’s because it fires in an arc, so aiming it takes time to master.

5. Sharp Japanese Sword

This weapon combines good reach and high damage with the ability to be swung pretty fast. In essence, the trusty katana is one of the highest DPS melee weapons in the game. Its stats make it pretty versatile, so you’re able to challenge any fish, from small fry to even larger predators.

4. Red Sniper Rifle

The Red Sniper Rifle is an amazingly reliable weapon. While it has only three bullets, it’s able to fire them to infinite range. Moreover, the laser marker makes lining up shots pretty easy. And anything a bullet hits is not going to have a good time, thanks to its incredible 32 base damage.

3. Triple Axel

One of the best things about this gun is how easy it is to craft and upgrade. It shoots a scatter of three shots at a time, kind of like an underwater shotgun. But what makes this gun great is that you can upgrade it to deal different types of damage, so imagine what it does when three augmented shots hit something.

2. Tennis Racket

Yes, it’s silly. But it’s still one of the best weapons in the game. The Tennis Racket is a bit rare to find but makes up for it with its utility. Firstly, it deals whopping 15 base damage, more than most other melee weapons in one hit. But the crowning ability of the racket is that it has a tremendous knockback effect, which can keep dangerous predators at bay.

1. Sticky Bomb Gun

The Sticky Bomb Gun is among the rarest weapons in the game. But that’s for a good reason. It’s what you get when you combine the Grenade Launcher with something like a Sniper Rifle. It fires explosive charges in a direct line that then stick to them and explode in a radius. No matter the size of the fish or how many are there, this gun can devastate all comers.
