How to Catch Sturgeon in Coral Island

Much like other rare species like Yellowfin Tuna, the Sturgeon requires several environmental conditions to be met if you hope to catch one in Coral Island. For starters, this species only appears during the summer, fall, and winter seasons. This means you won’t be able to catch one during your first in-game season, giving you a bit more time master fishing in the meantime.

As far as locations go, this rare fish spawns solely in freshwater, specifically in the river mouth by your farm and the connected stream. That said, you’ll also need to consider some time constraints, as the evening and night are the only times during the day when Sturgeon will appear.

This is a solid amount of criteria to meet as it is, but there’s just one more thing you’ll need to keep in mind — there must be some sort of weather condition present in order for Sturgeon to spawn. This can include rain or snow, depending on the season. Of course, even meeting each of the above requirements won’t guarantee a catch, as this species is both rare and very hard to reel in.

Attaching Bait

Because the Sturgeon fish poses such a big challenge to catch, you’ll want to make sure you attach bait to your fishing pole. This will help increase your odds of a successful catch, given you use the proper bait. Since this species is rather big, you’ll want to use Large Fish Bait. You can craft some for yourself with seaweed and any small fish. I recommend crafting as much as you can to best prepare for a tug-of-war with a Sturgeon.
