How to raise student numbers in Cities Skylines 2?

The most obvious solution to this problem is to simply build more housing zones. Building more residential districts will increase the influx of people coming to live in your city. That way, you should be able to get more students, right? Yes, but this is hardly an optimal solution.

Elementary Schools are the first step in your citizens’ education, populated by kids, ie. students. You have a few tools at your disposal to target an increase in this demographic.

First, if you’re in early to mid-game, the best way to encourage more kids to move into your city is by building low-density residential zones. These zones are perfect for families to move in. On average, each house of sufficient size will have the best chance to attract a family of two adults and two kids. Say hello to your two new students.

You can use this second way in combination with the first. However, it is more suited to mid- to late-game. This method entails making sure that your Healthcare system is well-developed and with good coverage. Most importantly, you want to have Hospitals strategically positioned around your city. This will have a knock-off effect of more children being born in your city, ready to grow up into future students.
