How to Export Water in Cities Skylines 2
When you first start your city in Cities Skylines 2, you’ll need to use your water supply to run a sewage system throughout each area. You can also use your stores to run power across your city with the help of hydro-electric power plants. With the needs of your population met, you can then work on exporting any excess resources you have. Follow these steps to export water.
- Meet your city’s needs – Before you can export water in Cities Skylines 2, you’ll need to ensure that your residents have everything they need. This means having the proper sewage systems in place, first and foremost. Soon enough, you’ll be able to expand your city outward.
- Expand your city limits – Each time you meet population milestones, you’ll have new opportunities to purchase land. You can only buy plots directly connected to your existing city, so it may take some time to expand towards greater water sources. That said, reaching the edge of the map should be your goal. This way, you’ll have optimal outside connections to export water.
- Lay water pipes – With your plans in place, you can work on laying water pipes. They should run the length of roadways that connect to areas in which you want to export water. Just bear in mind that they must surpass your city limits to start the export process.
- Export your resources – Once you’ve laid the groundwork, you can get to exporting water. If you have the proper structures in place, the process will kick off on its own.
