Killstreaks are bonuses in Call of Duty games that players get when killing multiple enemies in a row without dying or by scoring points on objectives. As the official release is getting closer, we wonder if we can use Killstreaks in Modern Warfare 3.
MW3 is a direct sequel and a continuation of the story established in Modern Warfare 2. Very soon, you will join Ghost, Soap, and the rest of the gang in one of the most-anticipated shooters of the year. There will be new features added and old ones improved. But, are Killstreaks among them?
Will MW3 Have Killstreaks?
Yes, Killstreaks are back. We already heard some great stuff from the developers about MW3 Multiplayer. Improvements like smoother gameplay, more maps, and a variety of game modes. On top of that, devs have confirmed the return of the Killstreaks. “You can even use your favorite Killstreaks in Campaign,” said David Swenson from Sledgehammer Games. Killstreaks were mostly multiplayer-only so we are all more than happy to hear this. The only caveat is that they will be limited to Open Combat Missions and are not usable in the standard Cinematic Missions. Along with Killstreaks, we also saw leaks pointing to the return of Scorestreaks.
- Some features may require online subscription
- Pre-Order and Receive Early access to the Open Beta – first on PlayStation*
- ADAPT OR DIE IN A FIGHT AGAINST THE ULTIMATE THREAT
- IT’S TIME TO SETTLE OLD SCORES AND START NEW ONES
- ALL NEW OPEN WORLD ZOMBIES
What Is The Difference Between Skillstreaks and Scorestreaks?
For those who don’t know the difference, most Call of Duty games had Killstreaks. These were special bonuses you’d acquire by killing enemies without dying. Moreover, some also had Scorestreaks, which rewarded players who scored points in the game (by capturing Hardpoints and such). Additionally, the leaks suggest that players will be able to toggle between Killstreaks and Scorestreaks. Each would be rewarding a different playstyle, just like in MW2. If true, this is excellent news, as it is quite a popular feature among players and no doubt it will have the same, if not better, reception. Certainly, the MW3 Multiplayer will be a blast.
How To Use Killstreaks in Modern Warfare 3
Up to this point, Killstreaks were mostly used by collecting enough kills in a row. In Call of Duty Warzone, things were a little bit different, as you had to buy them from Buy Stations. There is no reason to believe that devs will radically change this, but this is purely speculation as we have no official info on how they will be used in Modern Warfare 3.
