Can You Merge Fortnite Accounts?

A creator made map titled Cyber City row from Fortnite Chapter 4 season 2.

Fortnite has come a long way since its original release. From Epic Games’ internal game jam to battle royale darling, this title has reached the height of popularity over the past few years. Released on PC, Mac, Xbox, and PlayStation, and later coming to Switch and Mobile, chances are you’ve played this game on a few different systems. As such, it may be unsurprising if you have multiple Fortnite accounts floating around.

Before cross-play was introduced, you had to have separate Fortnite accounts for each system. While it may not affect everyone, it is very possible that you have a large amount of experience and battle pass rewards strewn across multiple accounts. Is it possible to merge these accounts into one?

Can You Merge Multiple Fortnite Accounts Together?

Sadly the answer is no. You can not merge Fortnite accounts together.

When cross-play was first introduced, Epic Games did give players the option to merge Fortnite accounts together. However, several players found exploits that allowed them to merge banned or suspended accounts into regular accounts, circumventing their punishment. Because of this, Epic Games ended their Account Merge program, and they currently have no plans to reinstate it.

Are There Any Other Ways to Link My Fortnite Accounts?

While it is not possible to merge accounts fully, it is possible to link all of your accounts to one Epic Games account. This will ensure your experience and rewards are shared between all your devices. To do so, follow the instructions below:

  • Launch Fortnite on your console
  • Click on link an account
  • Enter the code shown on this site using a computer or smartphone
  • Click on continue
  • Sign into your Epic Games account
  • A confirmation message will appear

You can link one account from each device, meaning that even if you’ve played Fortnite on every possible console, you can still connect them all. While it still means juggling accounts, at least this way, you can make sure you’re always getting the most out of your playtime.
