How To Get The Crossbow Naturally In MW2

Infinity Ward has gated this fantastic weapon behind the Seven Paths of the Ronin challenges. Otherwise, expecting one to obtain this weapon with little to no effort would be unwise. The seven challenges are named after the ‘Seven Virtues of Bushido’: Integrity, Honor, Sincerity, Compassion, Courage, Respect, and Loyalty.

1. Integrity: Win 15 matches in any multiplayer game mode or get five top 10 finishes in Warzone.
2. Honor: Score 100 objective defense kills in multiplayer or get back your dog tag in Warzone.
3. Sincerity: Get 50 kills using Battle Rage in multiplayer or complete five Assassination Contracts in Warzone.
4. Compassion: Get 100 assists in any multiplayer game mode or revive a total of 20 teammates in Warzone.
5. Courage: Get triple kills 25 times in any multiplayer game mode or complete three Search and Seizure Contracts in Warzone.

The remaining two challenges (Respect and Loyalty) will become available on March 1st. If you don’t want to wait that long and have some cash to spare, you can directly buy the Ballistic Love bundle from the store for 2400 CoD points and roll out with a valentine-themed crossbow.

How To Get The Crossbow Early In MW2

Surprisingly enough, players have discovered a bug that can allow you to get your hands on the Crossbow a lot early without having to complete the Seven Path of the Ronin challenges. This could get patched soon, so do it as soon as possible if you are on the console.

We do not recommend doing this and will only post it for educational purposes. Here’s how it works:

1. Boot up Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s main menu
2. Proceed into offline mode by immediately canceling the Connecting to online services loading screen 
3. Navigate to Local Multiplayer
4. Create a new class and add the Crossbow to it
5. Navigate to the Gunsmith and save the weapon as a blueprint
6. Return to the game’s main menu and proceed to online
7. Navigate to an existing loadout or create a new one
8. Add the Crossbow to your loadout by loading in the custom blueprint

With that, you should be able to use the Crossbow without completing its intended challenges. Note that this glitch works only on the console, as the PC version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 does not support Local Multiplayer.
