The community is buzzing with excitement over the star of the Open Beta on August 30. The fans have spent lots of time dissecting every available piece of information available to them. The Mission Playthrough video gave them some more details about the protagonist, and one detail broke everyone’s immersion. Now, the Call of Duty Black Ops 6 fans are sharing their expectations for the so-called Human Shield, which was featured in the trailer.
Many Fans Are Thrilled By the Idea of Using a Human Shield
At the time of writing this article, only three days are left until the drop of the Open Beta. Fans are extremely eager to start playing the game and learn all the intricate details and mechanics. One mechanic in particular, will it be possible to actually use another player as a Human Shield?
One player, PoppysDaddy2017, took to Reddit to see what their fellow fans’ expectations were. This player noted: “In the reveal trailer it shows them using another player as a human shield. I’m really interested to see how this is going to pan out in multiplayer. This could work out to be a really good feature, or super annoying”.
Of course, many more questions were raised. For example, what would the affected player see, and could they break free? Is this something you can do at any time, or only with a perk? Would you be able to attach the grenade to the unfortunate human shield and throw them?
Monday_Vibes offered some possible answers. They stated: “I think if it’s in the MP in every mode it’ll work a lot like the executions. You’ll get two bottom prompts, one to execute like normal and then one to use them as a human shield. I think the shield will have a timer where you can use a weapon for a limited time. And, then you’ll hit the person in the shield with an execution after that”.

Other Call of Duty Black Ops 6 fans offered what their expectations were from using someone as a Human Shield. Most of the players are quite certain it would work as an execution. Although we won’t know the details for a couple of more days, this seems to be the most probable solution.
One Redditor, rldeadlock, said: “From the leaks, I saw gameplay of it and it seems that it works like an execution where you have to get behind them and do an input behind them. Once you have them you can also opt to just execute. So, I hope we have the ability to attach a frag to them as an execution. I also hope if we can grab them and while they are our shield you can just walk them off the edge of a map”.
Based_God_Phantom had an even funnier idea. This player jokingly suggested: “Prox chat absolutely needs to be enabled when you grab a player as a meat shield. Would make for some hilarious moments”. We can’t even imagine what we’d say in that situation.
Well, we can’t wait to find out how this mechanic actually works. It’s going to be loads of fun, for sure. We are sure this will become one of the favorite trolling mechanics in no time, and we’ll gladly jump on that train. So, see you soon in-game, we’ll be the ones constantly used as shields.
