Some great news for the Call of Duty fans arrived on November 19. As you probably know, there’s been some controversy over the last week or so. Devs initially announced that Legacy XP tokens wouldn’t be redeemable in Black Ops 6, however, the latest patch notes show them listening to the community and going back on their decision.

What’s the Drama Around the Legacy XP Tokens?

As anyone who loves the Call of Duty franchise knows, the Legacy XP tokens can be extremely useful. Once you’re done with a game, you can use up the rest of the tokens you’ve earned in another one. Well, for a moment Black Ops 6 was an exception to this rule.

Back on November 16, the official Treyarch page on X posted a lengthy explanation of what was going on. It stated: “With the start of Season 01, a UI bug allowed players to activate legacy XP tokens in Black Ops 6. Unfortunately, it also introduced some potential risk to game stability, which is why it was patched yesterday”. In a nutshell, the players would be able to use their Legacy XP tokens through Warzone.

Now, this announcement was met with a huge backlash in the community. As you may have expected, Black Ops 6 players didn’t like being forced to go through Warzone to activate the Legacy XP tokens. Some even accused the devs of trying to prevent the players from using their tokens.

However, the devs worked hard and managed to prevent a bigger mutiny. On November 19, they shared the latest patch notes and announced that they fixed the problem with the Legacy XP tokens in Black Ops 6. The devs noted: “Black Ops 6 has been updated to support legacy XP token functionality”.

Black Ops 6 Players Point Out the Tokens Weren’t the Only Problem

As always, the community wasn’t sure what to feel. On one hand, they got what they asked for in record time. On the other one, there were still many other problems with the game. So, most of the players expressed their gratitude and their dissatisfaction at the same time.

Anthony noted: “You actually did it, good work. Now address these awful maps and how you lied about them being “classic three-lane design”. Break the emergency glass and give us 10 solid maps to play on from yesteryear in a bonus update if you have to”.

In addition, players reminded the devs of long-term problems, such as hit reg, Recon, and matchmaking. This only goes to show that the players aren’t satisfied with the condition that the game is in. However, it seems that the devs are up to the task. So, let’s give them some more time to see what they come up with.
