The Open Beta is almost here and the future players are soaking in all the information they can get. So far, they know a couple of things about Case, that they’ll go to Vorkuta again, and, of course, that they’ll have the already infamous Human Shield possibility. At the Call of Duty Next event, Treyarch revealed that Black Ops 6 will have a slightly lower TTK (time to kill) than the other installments of this franchise.
How Was TTK Changed for Black Ops 6?
At the event, Treyarch representatives talked about TTK and what the players can expect in the Open Beta. They stated: “It is a critically important part of the game. We slightly lowered TTK, you’re gonna die a little bit faster than in something like Cold War”. They added: “We feel like where we are right now sits really well”.
Some players were quick to notice that TTK in the Call of Duty Next livestream seemed way too low. ItsmejimmyC noted: “I’m not going to judge until I play it myself but the TTK looks mad fast. Just from what I’ve seen of the gameplay so far the TTK looks a bit too fast for my tastes, what was wrong with Cold War? That felt great to me from what I remember”.
Of course, if you watch the livestream, remember that those players are most likely the “sweatiest of sweats”, as some players put it, so it makes sense they were as efficient as that. One player, louiscool, suggested another possible explanation. They stated: “I think they had to with the omnimovement or you would just be slip-sliding through bullets. And if their snipers really are as strong as they might be, then you’ll want a shorter TTK or snipers will overpower the game”.
Call of Duty Players Support Lower TTK
As strange as it may sound, most of the Call of Duty players are looking forward to the lower TTK in Black Ops 6. MeatballEddie said: “Good. I’m tired of putting half a mag into someone who just break-dances through my bullets and one-shots me”.
Another player, slayer-x, noted: “From detailed gun stats I’ve seen though, it’s still more towards Cold War TTK than something like MW2019 or MWII which is good. So it’s just slightly faster it seems. Glad they didn’t go too fast like an MW CoD. The issue is they also have rapid-fire attachments. That will decrease TTK even more. Hopefully, rapid fire isn’t too crazy, maybe like 5-10% faster fire rate max”.
Well, we’re sure it will take the players a while to get used to the lower TTK, but we think both experienced and rookie players will enjoy this change in the end. What do you think? Was this the best idea for Black Ops 6?
