Looking to find out about how to sheath your weapon in Baldur’s Gate 3? Then you have come to the right place.
Baldur’s Gate 3 gives many plenty of options on how to roleplay their adventure in this turn-based RPG. One of the neat features is weapon sheathing, or putting it away when not in use. This guide will show players how to sheath your weapon.
How To Put Away Your Weapon in Baldur’s Gate 3
There are two methods that players can do in order to put away or sheath their weapon. The first default option is much easier than the second, but is important to know both just in case.
The first method can be done anytime during gameplay as long as the player is not in the middle of a fight. Players can press the U key on the keyboard to sheath their weapon while pressing the same key again will make the character take the weapon or sword back out.
The other method involves the inventory screen. Players can press the I key on the keyboard, the Select button on Xbox controllers, and the Touchpad on PlayStation controllers to bring up the inventory menu. Players can then drag and drop the weapon into the weapon slot, and this will automatically sheath or put it away.
There is no combat benefit to sheathing your weapons, but this is a Dungeons and Dragons styled role-playing game. Players should have the option to put away their weapons when not in use instead of always carrying them around, ready to fight anything.
How to switch between melee and ranged weapons?
If you’re looking to switch from one weapon type to another, there’s an option for that too. To swap between ranged and melee weapons on PC, press F on your keyboard. Alternatively, you can click on the icons at the bottom UI. Pressing the ‘sword’ icon for melee, and the ‘crosshair’ icon for ranged. That way, you can have your Barbarian pull out his greataxe instead of running around with a small crossbow that he had to use that one time, for example.
