Need to learn how to decrease notoriety in Assassin’s Creed: Mirage? No problem. Here’s everything you need to know about bettering your reputation and staying on the down low.
As you take to the streets of Baghdad in Assassin’s Creed: Mirage, you’ll soon become aware of your notoriety. This system essentially acts as your wanted level in the game, so you should aim to keep it low. With high notoriety, you’ll risk endless foot chases with guards and up the odds of being recognized by civilians. Needless to say, this isn’t a good look for any assassin. Here’s what you can do to soften your reputation in the eyes of the city people without compromising your profession.
How Does Notoriety Work in Assassin’s Creed: Mirage?
As the system suggests, your notoriety denotes how easily recognized you are in AC Mirage. As a Hidden One, you’ll want to stay, well, hidden. Considering Basim’s line of work involves a long list of crimes, it’s no wonder that each committed will add to your notoriety, which is split into three levels.
Notoriety Level | Consequences |
---|---|
Level 1 | Random civilians may recognize you and call for guards. |
Level 2 | Archers will monitor the streets from rooftops and guards will remain on high alert. Civilians are also more likely to recognize you. |
Level 3 | You will be pursued by elite soldiers, making it tough to get around. |
How to Decrease Notoriety in Assassin’s Creed: Mirage
There are a couple of things you can do to lessen your notoriety in AC Mirage.
- Remove wanted posters
- Bribe the Munadi
Removing Wanted Posters
If you’re starting from square one, you’ll want to start by tearing down any and all wanted posters you find strewn about Baghdad. The longer your image remains posted for all to see, the more likely passersby are to recognize your face. Needless to say, you’ll want to prevent this.
Of course, this task may be easier said than done. While you’ll likely find wanted posters in densely populated areas, you’ll also find your likeness in less obvious locations. Because of this, you’ll need to monitor even the areas you’d least expect to ensure your reputation remains untainted. Doing so will greatly decrease your notoriety, bringing it down by one level each time you remove a wanted poster.
That said, you shouldn’t wait to take this precaution. The higher your notoriety level, the harder it will be to access wanted posters, as civilians will crowd around each posting. If you attempt to tear down a poster amongst these bystanders, you risk being identified. Fortunately, there’s another route you can take to avoid this.
Bribing Munadi
Once your notoriety level is too high to travel undetected, your best bet is to bribe Munadi. These NPCs are town criers with the social standing and lung capacity to effectively clear your name. Of course, their service will cost you one power token.
This currency is tough to come by, so you shouldn’t rely entirely on the Munadi to keep your notoriety low. However, their locations are conveniently marked on your map in case you’re in dire need of their help.
