Does Armored Core 6 Have An Open World?

Armored Core VI: Fires Of Rubicon is not an open-world game. It is staying true to previous Armored Core games with a single-player campaign that contains a mission-based structure. That means players will select missions from a list of different factions, and then load into the map across the world of Rubicon with their mecha pilots for a little exploration and complete the objectives. It moves into a different game style from other Souls series games from director Masaru Yamamura.

This is true for the single-player mode and multiplayer. The competitive multiplayer features duels and small mech battles, so the high-level map will not be sprawling with different mission objectives like other soulsborne games.

In an interview with Inverse, it was discussed Armored Core 6 would be an open world during development. “Open world was considered, not just in the sense of do we make this open world or not? It was a case of what kind of game it should be, and what we wanted to focus on in terms of what makes Armored Core what it is,” said game director Masaru Yamamura.

What Choices Can Players Make in Armored Core 6?

The only freedom in the story mode is which missions you choose to complete. Siding with one faction over another will progress the story further, and the branching choices will determine how certain events will play out as well as the ending of planet Rubicon coming to great disaster or enormous changes.
