Remedy Entertainment’s horror survival game Alan Wake 2 is scheduled to launch globally on October 27. The plot goes like this: best-selling thriller novelist Alan Wake has been trapped in an alternate dimension for 13 years. The same time period between Alan Wake (2010) and AW2 (2023). He attempts to escape by writing a horror story involving an FBI agent named Saga Anderson. The game is exclusive to current generation consoles, but, is it also exclusive to the Epic Games store?
Is Alan Wake 2 an Epic Game Store Exclusive?
Yes, Alan Wake 2 will be an Epic Games store exclusive. It will not be on Steam or any other similar platforms. The reason is that Remedy has partnered with Epic in back 2020. So, it stands to reason that Alan Wake 2 is an Epic store exclusive as Epic Games are the publishers. Another reason may be Epic’s First Run program, they offer 100% of the revenue to the developers for the first six months of the game’s release, if they make it Epic exclusive, provided it is released on or after October 27. After that, it reverts to the usual revenue split, where 88% goes to the devs and 12% goes to Epic Games. Moreover, the game will only be available digitally as no physical copies will be made.

Will Alan Wake 2 be on Steam, PS4 or Xbox One?
As it is an Epic Games exclusive, and Steam is their competitor, it is not likely we will ever see AW2 on Steam. Alan Wake Remastered hasn’t been on Steam either, so things are bleak for the fans of that platform. Owners of last gen consoles are also left behind, as Alan Wake 2 will only be for Play Station 5 and Xbox X/S. Quite an exclusive game, this one.
