Darktide Will Finally Arrive to PS5 and PS5 Pro on December 3

It’s almost here! Darktide will soon make a debut on PS5 and PS5 Pro. Starting from December 3, you’ll be able to enjoy this game set in the Warhammer 40k universe on your favorite device. The entire community is extremely hyped and can hardly wait for this game to drop.

The Executive Producer Reveals Darktide Is Coming to PS5 and PS5 Pro

Juan Martinez, the Executive Producer at Fatshark, wrote a long blog post detailing everything that the devs have planned. The EP gave a short recap of everything that the devs accomplished with Darktide since its release on PC in November 2022. That included 9 major additions and more than 25 updates.

This is a fast-paced co-op action game. The player has an amazing amount of choices to personalize their experience. You play in a team of four players, switching between melee and ranged combat. You serve the Inquisition and try to reclaim Tertium, a city that has fallen to the hordes of Chaos.

The Fatshark team worked tirelessly and adapted Darktide for PS5 and PS5 Pro. The EP noted: “While developing Darktide for PS5, we focused on delivering the best possible experience to players. We spent a great deal of time and effort in adapting the game to the PS5 hardware. PS5 users have the freedom to choose between Performance mode (running at 60FPS on a 1440p resolution) and Quality mode (running at 30FPS on a 4K resolution). For those of you with a PS5 Pro, we harnessed PSSR technology to get Warhammer 40,000: Darktide running at a steady 60FPS at 4K resolution”.

Juan Martinez also explained how the devs wanted the DualSense Controller to feel like a “natural extension of the Warhammer 40,000: Darktide experience”. They achieved this by working on adaptive triggers and haptic feedback features.

The EP added: “When your ammo count is getting lower, the triggers feel more intense, so you always know when you are about to run dry. Feeling the blades of the Chainsword spinning and the haptic feedback of your blade cutting through the flesh of heretics and demons is pure, grisly enjoyment”.

More Things Are Coming to Darktide

The Executive Producer also took the opportunity to announce more things to come. As it turns out, December 3 isn’t only the release date of Darktide on PS5 I PS5 Pro. It’s also the release date of the 10th major update – Grim Protocols.

Among other things, the devs will introduce a new endgame mode called Havoc. They’ll also add a new mission to the roster of 20+ existing missions. Finally, the EP revealed: “Three new weapon families will be added, allowing you to tear through waves of enemies with the destructive might of the Two-Handed Force and Power Swords, and the Ogryn Heavy Stubber”.
