How is that confusing when its an acronym for XBOX? You also have a Xbox One S so it is all part of Xbox One family.

You are quite right. I can imagine the non-gamer parent/grandparent going into a store to purchase a game console for their little Johnny and being met with the choice of the XB1s and XB1x and a $250 USD price differential with possibly two or three games included with XB1s what console do you think the non-gamer adult would purchase?

Of course to muddy the waters completely you will have the PS4pro which at the worst will be $100 USD cheaper than the XB1x (the PS4s will be over $250 cheaper with possibly two to three games) and unless the non-gamer is in the know (which they aren't) they won't see all that much of a difference between the PS4pro and XB1x even on a high-quality UHD TV and I don't know if any gaming stores that actually does this since most stores just have a HDTV (normally fairly small) for each console.

Of course this is not to say that the XB1x won't sell, it will, but in what numbers that is going to be interesting.

The "Xbox One" name was already very confusing since it was the third generation. And unfortunately, they released the Xbox One S last year, which meant that name couldn't be used as a cleaner name for "Xbox One Scorpio." Seriously, who's in charge of branding at Microsoft??

XOX ... sounds like hugs and kisses. but i don't want hugs and kisses from a 500 dollar machine. i want to play exclusives that utilize the power of the hardware. so i would say this whole xbox thing is one big epic fail. good for them they got a few who fell for the brand. i don't see how they will be making new customers with this.
