Surprising how close Wii U is to X1.

PhoenixUp2539d ago

Wtf they're nowhere near close, the gap is greater than Wii Us sold

tinchotin2539d ago (Edited 2539d ago )

Wii U is closer to xbone, than xbone is to ps4

16 millions vs 29 millions

PhoenixUp2539d ago

So wtf is your point? They gap between XO & Wii U continues to grow everyday. Those two consoles' sales are nowhere near close

XanderZane2538d ago

The gap will grow even more and more since the Wii U isn't being sold anymore.
1. PS4
2. XBox One
3. Wii U

Ironic that Nintendo was 1st last gen and is Last this gen.

FallenAngel19842538d ago

@ tin

Wii U sales haven't even passed 14 million yet, but way to pull an additional 2 million out of your ass and unnecessarily add it to Wii U's total in a vein attempt to make a baseless point.

And why dafuq even bring PS4 into the discussion?

ILostMyMind2538d ago

@XanderZane
Wii was on PS3/X360 gen. WiiU was on PS4/XBO gen. Switch is on Pro/Scorpio gen.

Okeydokey .. Very close ... Mmmm

MegamanXXX2539d ago (Edited 2539d ago )

What's surprising is that X1 hasn't reach 30 million yet. It's mind-boggling.

darthv722539d ago

The mind boggling part is the ps4 should be higher.

I dont know solid numbers but i think at this time the PS2 was upwards of 70+ million.

MegamanXXX2539d ago

I don't think no console will ever catch the PS2. Different era

darthv722538d ago (Edited 2538d ago )

True... it was different time then but the game is still the same.

Id venture that gt sport and god of war will be the tipping point (along with price cut) to kick sales into gear.

FallenAngel19842538d ago

XO sold more than twice what Wii U sold, you'd really have to be bad at math to say those numbers are close or something about it "surprises" you

😂 this has got to be like when your dog p!sses on the floor and rub their nose in it and throw them out the front door... To nintendo fans. Boy oh BOY i hope the switch hits 20 million in the first year like stated, because if not... 😟 im calling 6 million in the 1st year... If their lucky. Because outside zelda to me theres not any must buys until this fall. I do however see the switch outpacing the wiiu by a longshot because afterall... We all know its a replacement for the 3ds

Tinchotin:

Thats about the difference between the ps4 and xb1 2:1. No matter how you slice it.

The 10th Rider2539d ago (Edited 2539d ago )

You do realize the Switch is likely at around 5 million by now, if not past it. . . And Mario is hitting during the Holidays?

It's got another 9 months to sell one million to hit your prediction. That means it doesn't even have to sell half the Wii U's average sales over the next nine months to beat your prediction. And you think they'll only hit 6 million "if their lucky". I'd bet you my entire gaming collection that they hit at least 6 million by the end of the console's first year on the market.

As for must haves, Splatoon was one of the most successful new first party IPs of this generation and Splatoon 2 is certain give the Switch a nice boost.

GrubsterBeater2539d ago

I'm so pumped to get Splatoon 2 on my switch.

The 10th Rider2538d ago (Edited 2538d ago )

@GrubsterBeater,

Evidently people don't think your pumped for it.

If people are disagreeing with the success of Splatoon, it sold around 5 million on a console with an install base of 14 million.

Here's the top selling 360 games: https://en.wikipedia.org/wi...

And here's the top selling PS3 games: https://en.wikipedia.org/wi...

Both consoles had an install base of around 85 million. Splatoon sold enough that it'd be around the 11th spot on both lists, despite being on a console with 1/6th the install base. The Last of Us and Gears of War are really the only other new IPs that were as successful, unless you want to count Kinect Adventures.

stonecold32538d ago

Dosent help when they under track ps4 and over track for Xbox ps4 would around 63 million by now

FallenAngel19842538d ago

What are you smoking? You hoping for VGC to report that PS4 had sold 63 million at the end of April is beyond inaccurate when Sony themselves reported just last week that PS4 had sold 60 million.

Idk why you'd believe there to be conspiracy afoot.

FallenAngel19842538d ago

That's stupid logic. PS4 wouldn't be at 63 million at the end of April when it just hit 60 million, as reported by Sony, in the beginning of June

FallenAngel19842537d ago

Sony just announced today that PS4 has currently sold 60.4 million units, even further proving how bullshit your notion that VGC somehow undertracks PS4 numbers
