Final Fantasy XV Release Date Announcement Event Is All Sold Out

Square Enix announced not too long ago that it is holding a special event to announce the release date for Final Fantasy XV. Tickets were available to the event earlier this week, but now they’re all gone.

The event in question is “Uncovered: Final Fantasy XV” which is being held at the Shrine Auditorium on March 30th in Los Angeles. Tickets were offered for free via the official website, but people have snapped them all up very quickly.

The official Twitter page for the game posted a photo that said “all gone”. Don’t worry though, Square Enix will be live streaming the event worldwide to let everyone know of the exact release date for a game that has been in development for over ten years now.

FF7 demo however I imagine providing they could whip one up in a playable state, they'd include one in all day one editions similar to what they did with Type 0.

Way to hype an event that ushers in an announcement. I would be even more surprised if SE throws in a little extra in the game's release that's not Collector's Ed as a way of thanks for having fans waited this long...

If you read any articles from the recent update they had you'd know it's more than just the release date. Brand new gameplay, trailers, demo, plus the release date plus since it's in LA probably all in english too.

Isn't that what all the gaming conventions are for, E3, TGS, etc...They are to give more info about certain games and to announce release dates?? I'm guessing they are doing a lone event because if they wait until E3, it will be too close to the release of the game...plus, you know, the fact that this might be the biggest JRPG release in the history of gaming.

Except that this is one event for one game. Any info given out will be something you'll find out by playing the game, which is why it comes off as being pointless to some people.

And while this game can't possibly be as bad as FF13 was story if not gameplay wise, if it is, such events like this will send a clear message to the likes of Square that story doesn't have to be a concern. That only hype matters.

I pre-ordered the game a year ago because I figured Nomura at least made his latest convoluted story something magical. Plus his team ensures pretty good gameplay. Hopefully they didn't change it that much when development shifted. Either way, it couldn't be nearly as bad as XIII or XII. Might be the first decent story to come out of FF since XI: Chains of Promathia although I heard Heavensward was great too.

I'm sorry but I'm not seeing your connection to the marketing and advertising department on having any correlation to the people creating the story.

I suspect that FF15 is more an event than a game with parts and elements planned for later release for as long as Square believes that it make them money.

At this point marketing has become as important, and as expensive, as producing a game if not more so. With the game itself not really needing to be good or engaging, just competent enough in appearance that the likes of Square can make themselves believe that they did a decent job. At this point enough fans will agree with them or at least buy the game even if its returned soon after.

There's really nothing that I can say to convince you how much this event is as much about ego as advertising so what's the point.

Actually, it is more of a launch of the marketing campaign. In the latest ATR they said that uptil now all the information and reports were for the hardcore fans who have been waiting for year. Now they will approach the masses and spread awareness about the latest game. That is why the big event so they can generate visibility and hype for the game.

But Versus 15 will actually be FF17. Release date: 2026. Would cry. Then again I'm probably done buying anything SE makes with the exception of games that Nomura is spearheading and Dragon Quests. Ironically, Nomura is working on everything though.

Collectors edition will have new in game car for getting around the world or in-game summons. They could also have a contest where you win real life in-game car!

That would be the worst thing they could do. especially the idea for exclusive summons. I do not want to pay an extra $100 dollars just to get access to something that should be in the game to begin with.

If it were in my nearest city, i would go.. Im interested in it but still skeptical.. Square is a mixed bag to me.. I wanna be excited but after so many lightning games, i dont trust them.. Ill see the reviews first
