So basically these are titles that weren't a commercial success getting the budgeted treatment.

This is a good way to get people that weren't interested in the games a chance to try them out for cheap.

Flyingdog6703881d ago (Edited 3881d ago )

Well, the game sold over one million copies, so maybe it was a commercial success, who knows? I just really wish people gave this game a chance, sure, it wasn't as amazing as Smash Bros, but it was a lot of fun.

Hicken3881d ago

If it was that much of a failure, it wouldn't still cost as much as it does now.

So basically you're trolling. Again.

XboxFun3881d ago (Edited 3881d ago )

Where do I say that it's that much of a failure? I think it's pretty common knowledge that the titles weren't the successes that Sony and the critics hoped for.

I love how angry you get whenever anyone or anybody doesn't have a great or stunning comment about your love interest Sony.

Good job though, on your constant mis-use of the term trolling.

Hicken3881d ago

Who's angry? You're not making any sense.

You act like it's something new that games get added to the Essentials. Like it never happens, or only happens to games that don't sell well enough. I'm not gonna list them for you, but you should get familiar of the games on said list.

I call it trolling because the only purpose of your comment was to try and make the games look bad. Nevermind how many other members of the Essentials line are good sellers- and that most have been well-received, critically- your assumption is that they failed commercially, and so have been added.

Seriously, look up the games on the Essentials list, look up how many copies they sold, and say they were't successful.

It wouldn't have mattered, Sony would've rushed it out and left it to die. More so now than before with their focus now being on SP narrative driven AAA games.

CrimsonWing69529d ago

Oh, but somehow Smash Bros. 64 made it work?

It just couldn’t compete with Smash Bros. and it wasn’t a free-to-play game like Multiversus.

PapaBop529d ago

I think it released at the right time. It's just after the success of Smash and Multiversus, it's finally time for a sequel.

spoonard529d ago

I'd be all in on a remake or remaster of the original. I enjoyed it because I didn't sit there and compare every aspect to SSB. I just enjoyed it as it was.

Magatsuhi529d ago

Sony should make part 2 and dump a good amount of money on it. Scrap super only kills and it's bound to succeed.

Father__Merrin529d ago

Yes the power kills spoilt it completely WTH was they thinking you should have hp bar that's it

God of War: Ragnarok Weirdly Makes PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Canon

God of War: Ragnarok has plenty of fun references to PlayStation history, but now fans have discovered a conversation that calls back to PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale — the crossover fighting game released for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

Nyxus536d ago

I wouldn't say canon. More like an easter egg.

Deathdeliverer535d ago

That’s interesting. It actually does make it canon lol. He mentioned it in a mainline game. I’d say that’s pretty cool.
