Wow, no shit, the game isn't coming out for like 6-8 months.

True, its likely its going to turn out like 'Condition Zero' it had texture updates and was basically the same game like a 20% improvement in graphics and animations BUT..

People who play CS like to be good at it, and people wont switch to this unless its a big upgrade.

Hitboxes changes, animation changes wont be liked unless its using a totally different engine, lets divide the Counter Strike Community even more, its already split into 1.6 and CSS :P

6-8 months may seem like a lot of time, but sadly, it isn't. They need to completely redo models to make them look more up to date, and they need shaders for field of view and blur. I'd like to see a large amount of new content, but that could take up to a year. It's not like it'll drop the framerate, my Macbook Air runs Counterstrike at a considerable 120+FPS constant, and 60FPS goes for MW2. This game just looks like a polished last gen game, and that can change and still look and feel like the same unforgiving CS we all know and love.

What's worse is that CoD actually looks better than this. I know it's rehash of old mechanics brought into the new, but for an online only game, especially a rehashed Counterstrike, I expected more. This just feels like a money grab, they could seriously do better with this.

This is not Counter Strike 2.....but merely cleaning up some mechanics and visuals of CS:S to make CS:GO more Pro Gamer league friendly which should of been done years ago.

The weapon models....MAYBE, everything else looks better then Source.

Remember the single skin that the T's and CT's launched with on CS Source? They were awful and replaced eventually with the 4 skins per side which did look better.

It's also important to note that this game is something Valve probably wants to be able to run on a wide assortment of machines.

@ravenor...listen don't be a jerk. The addition of ADS does not in any way shape or form suggest there would be auto aim. Battlefield has had ads for quit some time and there is no auto aim or snap to of any kind there.

I used to play counter strike and liked it, but I love the look/feel of ads, which will probably get me crucified here but whatever, it's what I think.

If your first and apparently primary concern is the game's graphics, CS is not for you. CS is for those who enjoy a game where skill and teamwork trump all else. In fact, any and all comparisons to recent CoD games are completely undeserving. Comparing a skill-based shooter like CS to a game that arms its 12-year-olds with "tactical" nukes, carpet bombs dropped from a f*&%ing jet fighter, personal missiles, and a pack of roaming wild dogs is laughable. Unfortunately, "modern" fps is also synonymous with "easy" fps. Oh, did I mention default radar? Yes, it's reached that point where fps players are such noobs that they need to know exactly where on the map the enemey is at ALL times.

If they don't appreciate the hardcore goodness of this game, maybe they should go play COD or FF13.
Perhaps they would prefer they ruined the series, added respawn, and cover mechanics like Socom. Effectively turning the franchise into a laughing stock.

BTW, the graphics WILL be further polished, but that's not what this game is about. Go play FF13 if you need pretty graphics.

People play counterstrike because it has one of the best gameplay of any shooter. Just like cod4.

People don't care if the upgrade is not that huge as long as the gameplay is still great it's all good.

Actually more like 40k play UC2 every day. But yes, the great gameplay is still why hundreds of thousands of people still play Counterstrike. If you like to complain, go play one of the many COD UPGRADES that have been released then. That way you can run into combat with NO PLAN, no strategy, and no concern, get killed, then respawn every 5 seconds.

That game would be so much more fun than it already is if that was fixed. You have to edit the console just to get it mediocre...

Also, it's nice to see a franchise stick to its roots. Alot of good franchises from last gen are trying to change their identity to appeal to a more casual audience. It's ruined alot of franchises IMO. Good thing Valve apparently knows better.

When it comes to pure shooting gameplay Counter Strike is the one that really stands out against games Battlefield and Call of Duty.

From ive seen in this gameplay valve just needs to add proper animations and some other minor tecnical problems at can be fixed within weeks.And the graphics look good enough for an 60 fps (maybe more) kinda game.

I think you guys are missing the fact that it is a downloadable game... it's not going to have Skyrim/BF3/UC3, etc. graphics. They're fine. Like said before, it's the gameplay not graphics that matter in CS. Althought, more updated looking graphics would be nice.

It almost looks like the Modern Combat Domination game that was a dl title from the PSN store/XBL...It was not a bad game, and it only cost ten bucks. With the legacy of this franchise I think it will be 10 times better than that. I will definitely pick this up when it hits.

They dumped it and just added a bot "campaign", you can play the CZ single player by downloading the "Deleted Scenes"...I don't recommend it.

You run all the time, you press shift to walk and usually what I do is move this thing called a mouse. Movement of the mouse allows me to aim, it's an ingenious system I know.

5v5 is the sweet spot and the standard for competitive play.

watching this vid brings back memories used to love CS started playing it over a decade ago when it was just a mod for half-life funny things like were you died with the buy menu still open you could fly around as a ghost shooting people lol

There is no grenade spam due the nature of the game. You'd have purchase a grenade, manually switch and click the LMB to throw it. That progess takes time.

I'm getting this solely for the fact PS3 is supporting Mouse+Keys, that my PC is dead, and that I just can't enjoy multiplayer FPS games on a twin stick. (kudos to those that can, but the random switches in acceleration drives me nuts)
