tehpees31886d ago

I like the name vita. don't see why people are making such a fuss here

sikbeta1886d ago (Edited 1886d ago )

We'll call you PSV from now on...

Elimin81886d ago

Sounds like a new health "Vita-min" product.

miyamoto1886d ago (Edited 1886d ago )

LOL!!!

Yeah if Vita is true, Sony just lost a lot of "cool points".

But any way remember that it was rumored that the PSMove was called "Arc" & Microsoft had a device called "Arc" too. and was actually the Sony Ericsson Xperia "Arc"?

Now its the NGP is rumored to be called "Vita" & Microsoft had Windows "Vista"?

See?

whats in a name? does it change how the system plays? NO it just identity's the product nothing more nothing less STOP COMPLAINING

nikola9871886d ago

Just be real, how would you tell someone that vita is hardcore console? xD

lil Titan1886d ago

i wouldnt, the system cant be "hardcore" i think its the "games" i play that are "hardcore"

HolyOrangeCows1886d ago

It's playstation related, so they have to make a stink about it.

KiasuKiasiMan1886d ago

Well it seems like that's a real SCE site. SO I guess Vita is real? Or maybe a codename. I mean the Move was called PlayStation Arc at one point of time, so it may change. http://www.whois.net/whois/...

blumatt1886d ago (Edited 1886d ago )

That's what I was thinking. Since the Move was called Arc before, the NGP is being called Vita for now, but will be re-named to PSP2 later. I can't see it not being called PSP2. It would confuse consumers to not keep using a numerical naming system like they have all this time. (e.g., PS1>PS2>PS3)

@silvacrest
Yeah, that's true. But, I still hope it's just called PSP2. It would make more sense and be more recognizable to consumers. "Oh, I'll get little Jimmy the new PSP2 since he's got a PSP" Vita just doesn't have the same ring to it. lol But either way, whatever it's called, it's going to be the defining portable multimedia/gaming device out when it comes out.

silvacrest1886d ago

i dont think the NGP would have to codenames especially when the latest one comes a few days before E3

nikola9871886d ago

@blumatt: And how would you explain to someone that PSP2>PSP3000. Imagine some kid that rapes parents for new PSP2 and they buy him "1500x better" console aka PSP3000 :P

nirwanda1886d ago

@nikola i think thats the main reason why the 3ds is flopping, there are so many different ds's now that they probably dont realize the 3ds is a big step up in power as well as a 3d display.

sony will have been watchin closely and made sure everyone would be able to see straight away its a new console.

Rettom1886d ago

The Sweet Life, I know Italian (Assassin's Creed: 2 FTW!)

Burning_Finger1886d ago (Edited 1886d ago )

Well it's not the very first Sony product with absurd name. Sony Ericsson Vivaz sounds similar. It's probably short for something...

Playstation Vitamin. XD

I need to take my daily vitamins everyday now. lol

radphil1886d ago

More than likely people are just going to flock past this comment sadly though.
