OT: Gabe + Twisted Metal rocked E3... As well as N3DS!! The only things that could have made this E3 better was if Sony announced PSP2 and shown Resistance 3, Zone of the Enders 3 and KH3!(3 appears the be the big number this year)

Seeing the 3DS in action was neat, but the "bombshell" for the 3DS was how games like Ocarina of Time and MGS3 Snake Eater will be formatted to 3D on it. THAT was impressive.

I dont know how 3DS announcement was a bombshell. Its existence was confirmed by Nintendo long time before the conference if I remember well. I think the real "bomb" was the support Nintendo got from third parties to get some mature content on the new piece of hardware.

Gabe Newel (Portal2+Steam support) on Sony conference was MEGATON. BTW, Sony must have huge confidence in Jaffes work and in Twisted Metal franchise. It was the "one more thing" they wanted to surprise people.

think it has more to do with the ps3 and PSN being more open, thus allowing third party apps like steam. Im sure graphics whise both will be similar, but it is the steam integration that will make the ps3 version the better choice, according to Gabe.

No. The biggest announcement was GT5 release date. It will be the biggest selling HD console game ever that has not been bundled. There are more people who waiting for this than there are people who known what Twisted Metal is.

The PS2 owners will now upgrade to PS3 because the date is set.

E3 was poor, 98% of all the news was either expected or leaked, the only surprise to me was Gabe was able to get from point A to B without throwing up and passing out

I didn't think anything was megaton this time around. Some nice surprises, but nothing shocking. You kind of figured Valve would come around especially lately how they had been hemming and hawing and saying they might start work on PS3. I didn't expect Gabe to be on stage, but the news wasn't that big.

I thought all 3 had good conferences. None really stood out. Nothing shocking or unexpected and alot had already been announced ahead of time which stole some of the thunder of announcing it on stage.

The fact that Ocarina of Time is being remade for the 3DS and the Water Temple is being fixed. Seriously people, that should be mega news.

Underwhelming show was the bombshel to me. I was expecting more from the cam. I really dont know how this article put Kinect over Move...even when Im not like to support any of the two, definetly the Move was a better shown and had better games. And the unveiling of the 3DS and Xbox 360 were epected. I believe that the new Zelda wii was a better anouncement because is a hardcore franchise on the Wii. Anyway to each their own.

I think no one has really noticed because of the Gabe shock (and that was a shocker that many will remember for YEARS to come), but, and correct me if I'm wrong, but was that the first Portal 2 trailer that was released to the public? I cannot remember if they released another one or a series of them before this.

If so, then that got lost in all of the stuff about Gabe being on the Sony stage and eating the same crow that I think a LOT of us began eating when we saw that happen and heard what he said.

Portal 2 was a surprise, but not really megaton for me. The game should already be on PS3, so it is more like "FINALLY" instead of "OMG WHAT JUST HAPPENED"

Twisted Metal, Donkey Kong, and No Glasses 3D 3DS really were all megaton.

I would call 3DS a megaton more like a revelation for the competitors, we knew it would be there we just had to seee if it was the real deal and Nintendo Sold it. For Megaton Shockers Yeah it was a tie for me with Twisted Metal/Newell at the top.

for Added incentive think about things leading up to E3, Newell schedules a press conference (named Portal 2 conference by many) He changes the conference into a "surprise" conference, then he cancels the entire conference weeks short of E3 leaving many angry. And Now BAM! Sony is getting the best console version of Portal 2 and Steam console exclusive.
