RIPSKATEDESTROY5073d ago

yea thats right!! as you said he looked nervous as hell, but everybody has a price for sony i guess ;)

sikbeta5073d ago

Gabe on Stage Was Shocking....

The Whole Twisted Metal Trailer + Presentation + Gameplay was Pure Awesomeness...

GT5 Release date was the Best News...

RIPSKATEDESTROY

Did you just insinuate that Sony pay for their exclusivity? Other than the First party titles, ofcourse.

This isn't Microsoft ofcourse...

OT: Gabe + Twisted Metal rocked E3... As well as N3DS!! The only things that could have made this E3 better was if Sony announced PSP2 and shown Resistance 3, Zone of the Enders 3 and KH3!(3 appears the be the big number this year)

GWAVE5073d ago

Seeing the 3DS in action was neat, but the "bombshell" for the 3DS was how games like Ocarina of Time and MGS3 Snake Eater will be formatted to 3D on it. THAT was impressive.

lovestospoodge5073d ago

they took "megaton" quite literally with that one...zing!
but seriously portal is one of the most fun puzzle platformer games out there!

Razmossis5073d ago

I don't understand Steam, what is it and how will it make the PS3 version different

PLAYstar5073d ago (Edited 5073d ago )

How did any of the M$ note made into the list?! Aren't we talking about Bombshells here? M$ only brought toothpick into the warzone!!!

I dont know how 3DS announcement was a bombshell. Its existence was confirmed by Nintendo long time before the conference if I remember well. I think the real "bomb" was the support Nintendo got from third parties to get some mature content on the new piece of hardware.

Gabe Newel (Portal2+Steam support) on Sony conference was MEGATON. BTW, Sony must have huge confidence in Jaffes work and in Twisted Metal franchise. It was the "one more thing" they wanted to surprise people.

movements5073d ago

True true. Must have been a huge price!

willie62895073d ago

think it has more to do with the ps3 and PSN being more open, thus allowing third party apps like steam. Im sure graphics whise both will be similar, but it is the steam integration that will make the ps3 version the better choice, according to Gabe.

Palodios5073d ago

I think it has to do with the big Coke sponsorship.

diatom5073d ago (Edited 5073d ago )

Don't think it was Sony pulling, but Microsoft pushing.

Microsoft's restrictive policies on online content for the 360 and the decision to try to compete against steam with games for windows live probably just opened his eyes...

Paradise5073d ago

Twisted Metal just made my entire life.

Gabe Newell, sorry the joke was so obvious. The biggest announcements that day were definitely the 3DS, TM and Portal2

RedDragan5073d ago

No. The biggest announcement was GT5 release date. It will be the biggest selling HD console game ever that has not been bundled. There are more people who waiting for this than there are people who known what Twisted Metal is.

The PS2 owners will now upgrade to PS3 because the date is set.

Games That Were Bad on Release, But Are Now Great

BLG writes, "Some of the most popular games have had a rough start, with some of them being downright unplayable.

Despite that, developers have managed to turn it around for them and make their game worth playing. Here are some games that had a rough start but were pretty great."

Good list..hoped to see Street Fighter 5 there..and it is.

Vits3d ago (Edited 3d ago )

Sea of Thieves... I'm not disagreeing that the game has improved in terms of content. But I feel that the most significant change between now and its release is actually the public perception. Nowadays, most people are aware that the game is a multiplayer PvP-focused experience first and foremost, and not "Black Flag made by Rare". Consequently, people dismissing the whole experience because the single-player aspect is lacking or the story is plain are much less common.

darthv723d ago

Several years ago, i submitted an idea to Rare that would change up the mechanics of battling opponents in the game. whereby if you died in battle, you turned into a skeleton warrior and had to fight your way back to the land of the living. It was an interesting twist on respawning and would allow the player to experience both sides of a battle.

I keep hoping to see something like that get added to the game.

They consider FO 76 & ME Andromeda to be great now 🤭

anast3d ago

Every game in the last 2 decades...

INMATEofARKHAM2d ago

It's sad that this quick retort is more often than not true... The industry's acceptance of release and patch has gone too far.

gunnerforlife2d ago

Days gone! By the end of the game I couldn't drop it down! I went around so many hours killing zombies! It was addictive by the end.

S2Killinit2d ago

That game was just plain good game. It didnt improve, it was just good.

gunnerforlife2d ago

I don't know, I got it abit late, and struggled for a few days, and then all of a sudden it just got good!!
