PlayStation Vita and Legacy Games - How it Could Have Been Improved

VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "There are a few small tweaks that could've made the experience as a whole even more impressive and although it's a little late in the day for any changes to be made in this department, I thought I would write an article to examine the things that hold back the Vita from being a mind-blowing portable PlayStation legacy system."

The pricey storage is what deters many from experiencing Vita

fiveby92456d ago

I agree it did damage adoption of the system. I read an article that they chose a proprietary format for storage to limit / reduce software piracy. In the long run though it would seem their choice did far more harm than good. I still use my Vita from time to time but not as much as I would have liked.

Profchaos2456d ago

My main gripe was the fact that save game files were tied to the application instsll meaning if you uninstall you lose your saves excluding psp and ps4 titles

feraldrgn2456d ago (Edited 2456d ago )

Memory cards didn't drop to a respectable price.
1 account per memory card.

Save files were locked to the apps, delete the app & your save file goes, also makes backing up saves a pain.
Worse is that some of your saves won't load if you no longer have DLC that was in the save previously.

No way to back up trophies offline, to transfer to the offline storage of another Vita.
It still has great games though & portability is very nice.

Twisted Metal Franchise Celebrates 20th Anniversary

Twisted Metal aimed to entertain, and it did that far more often than not – even if that was occasionally executed with some of the worst acting this side of a Jill Sandwich.

Am I the only one who has enjoyed all the TM games?

Highlife3103d ago (Edited 3103d ago )

The ps1 games were the best. I would play split screen with my brother all the time. We would tape a big piece of cardboard to the tv so we couldn't look at each other's screen. So much fun.

The last one just wasn't as fun as the old ones not sure why.

spunnups3103d ago

Nope, I enjoyed them all, even TM3 and 4. Forget which one of those had a soundtrack of Entirely Rob Zombie, but that one rocked.

BlackTar1873103d ago

Twisted Metal 3 made by 989 studios. I like those one too but they were much less quality. My favorite is TM2 and TM Black then TM1 TMPS3 and TM3 and TM4

MastaMold3103d ago

No your not the only one that enjoyed all twisted metal, waiting for twisted metal game for PS4

Sent from my Xperia Z2 Tablet

ValKilmer3103d ago

Hoping we get a Twisted Metal PS4.

ZaWarudo3103d ago

Twisted Metal 3 was my favorite. So good.

Relientk773103d ago

Been enjoying this game since PS1

RyanDJ3103d ago

2 was the best: it was our "new year's eve" game two years in a row, that's saying something.

3 and 4 were very blah, thanks to the split off of SingleTrac. I much prefer their other two games that utilized the same engine. Rogue Trip was interesting, adding even more dark humor. And whilst not given as much respect, I loved the slow pacing and capture-the-flag attitude of Critical Depth.

Vigilante 8 was also a lot of fun

PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe now available on PS Vita

8bitfix writes: It is finally here! As PS Vita owners waited patiently for some sort of update, in order to play their beloved PSP title, PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe on their PS Vita.

JoGam4366d ago

Now wasn't Shooter 2 or SideScroller suppose to be for Vita also?

Bakagami4365d ago

Nope, they never said anything about Vita ports for those games, just Monsters. they should though

Acquiesc34366d ago

PJM has to be my favorite pixeljunk game. Co-op mode is godly. Another reason for me to pick up a Vita.

irishyort4365d ago

Thats ok I guess...

Just let me know when Velocity, Frosbisher Says and Sound Shapes arrive in NA and the party can start after that

KentBlake4365d ago

They should have kept the sale going on until now. I didn't buy it because it didn't work on Vita. Oh, well...

kingdavid4365d ago

I got it for like 10 dollars.. Its still cheap as hell.
