Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is the second Unreal Engine 5-powered title to launch this week. The game leverages the entire UE5 suite, including Lumen, Nanite, Niagara, and Virtual Shadows. Despite that, it runs better than the Oblivion Remake. Perhaps due to its smaller environments and aggressive culling rate.
The most powerful element in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is Fire for its Burn mechanics, but the reason for that is actually rooted in the story.
Game Rant interviews Clair Obscur: Expedition 33's composer, who discusses how he came up with the character themes and the connections between them.
TNS: Xbox Game Pass released Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Oblivion Remastered, making it one of the best weeks for the platform.
I generally prefer playing on PS5 but gotta give credit to GamePass.
Some examples just up to July:
Ninja Gaiden 2 Black
Doom: The Dark Ages
Pro Skater 3+4
Oblivion Remastered
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
South Of Midnight
Avowed
Mad Mullet Jack
Blue Prince
Atomfall
Would cost a lot of money to buy all these Day 1. I love my gaming childhood but this much access to games would have been cool growing up.
