Sony Sends Survey Asking PlayStation Gamers About the Switch 2

It seems Sony is curious what PlayStation gamers thought of the Nintendo Switch 2 reveal recently, and asked them directly about it.

I thought the hardware was solid. The new IP's looked polished and fun. The price of the system is not out of the realm of affordability but the games sure sound like they are.

I see myself waiting for sales or buying 2nd hand, but I do that with all the current platforms anyway.

Good clues that Sony is looking into a PS6 Portable

Profchaos46d ago

I don't think ps6 but they certainly want a companion handheld it's been rumoured for a while now they want a system that can run ps5 games in a handheld capacity. They acknowledge you can't have a handheld running spin off games anymore in a post switch world so it can't be another PSP/Vita it has to be the real Deal

I agree but I'll actually be a day 1 supporter of this I've already pre ordered the Mario kart bundle. With yakuza 0 confirmed to have a english dub for the first time and run at 4k 60 confirmed by Sega I'll be all over that.

I'll also be picking up when they come out
Donkey Kong banaza
Metroid prime 4

And I have a bunch of switch 1 games I'd love to see running better like echos of wisdom

PlayStation will still likely be my console and my main system but for me I've loved how much the switch 1 has brought the family together and let us game and have fun together in a way that no other system has since the Wii

This will actually be my first ever day 1 Nintendo console since ever even the nes I didn't get until a few years after it was out. normally I don't buy them until they are end of life, extremely cheap or running homebrew but i love their games and software and extending on the switch 1 just feels right to me im a huge game of the little handheld that could pull off impossible ports

If they ask, mention you HATE the $80 Digital games and $90 physical games lol

FACTUAL evidence46d ago

Shit, I’ll take it even further. I’d also add I hate 69.99$ games too.

bigfish46d ago (Edited 46d ago )

Agree, I just kind of started to accept games at 59.99 but find the 69.99 games and higher to be unreasonable making you question how many games you can buy day one

Xx_Pistol_xX46d ago

While I agree that 70 is high I can see why it was implemented.
- Game development going up.
- Inflation.
- Was 60 dollars for 2 generations.

Xx_Pistol_xX,

A year ago, I might be inclined to agree with you. But when you think about it, they do it to themselves.

Not every game needs to have insane budgets and they could always rein in executive compensation.

"Risks" today in the industry are rarely innovative and are typically financial. The result is throwing the full weight of the studio behind something same-y.

Alternatively, if you take a studio with, say, 200 people, and 50 people worked on different smaller, creative projects, I think there's a fair chance they pull in more than they would with a familiar AAA game.

@bigfish- just playing devils advocate…. A lot of SNES and N64 games were 60-70 I think even 80 USD but the 59 dollar price came with the ps3 in 2006- almost 20 years ago. I’m not saying I agree because 50 bucks is a nice round number for a game but adjusting for the value of the dollar at least…. 50 bucks in say 2000 which is what ps2 games cost on average for new or 59 in 2006 for brand new releases … 70 bucks + isn’t that insane. Do you know what bothers me a lot more? Nintendo still asks 40-50 for games from the launch window and doesn’t do “greatest hits” or very good discounts . The fact that a switch is as expensive as it is after 7 years is insane - console price drops have almost disappeared- it seems the value of currency is to blame for the cost of the machines and the games - even if i don’t like it I can see it

That $90 physical has turned out to be misinformation and has been disproven now

ZycoFox47d ago

My thoughts: has potential for some fun games if they bring back some classics which they haven't bothered with for a while.

Otherwise I thought it actually was kinda lacklustre, nothing we haven't really seen before, very few launch games, Mario Kart was the same old thing with no new modes being shown like Mission Mode or Story Mode.

Reveal was meh, potential to improve.. it's not going to please anyone looking for a powerful system though.

Profchaos46d ago

I like the idea of bringing back some classics maybe startropics in a top down remake with the same catchy music

Really hope people slate the price so Sony doesn’t get any funny ideas
