It sure seems that way. Instead of deeper rpg systems and improved stories we got dumbed down systems and slightly changed version of the previous story.

I don't think it's a great idea, not even good idea, to have all gamedevelopers do the same thing. If lets say D4 copied everything in Path Of Exile, well what would be the point to have 2 Path Of Exile.
No I rahter think every gamedeveloper should improve and extend on their own ideas so we have more fun games to play and not a gazzillion copy/pasty games like much of the gaming market are at the moment.
