Family-friendly fun has always been at the core of Nintendo, but the wave of potential Xbox ports and GTA 6 could be a huge turning point.
Marvelous has announced that digital pre-orders are now open for Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, and PC.
Consumers in Japan prefer the cheaper Japanese language-only Nintendo Switch 2, resulting in a higher lottery success for the global model.
But of course, it's around 30% cheaper when compared to the global model. That kind of price difference really makes it hard to ignore. Even I would be interested in getting one, and I barely speak Japanese.
For some, Target's website crashed from heavy traffic, while others had better luck with Best Buy and Walmart's virtual queues.
At one point I had 5 tabs on my browser with different stores. I was in a line queues in all of them and still came up short. I'm shocked at Best Buy the most. I had luck with them mutiple times in the past. Not this time. They were the worst offender. I'll get the system eventually but I ain't going through that again anytime soon. 😆
I actually secured 3 pre-orders of the MK World bundle... No, I'm not scalping them. Just had to grab one for my Cousin and possibly my best friend as well if he wants it. Since their jobs would assuredly get in the way of them even attempting a pre-order.
Easiest by far was just going to Gamestop in person when they opened up today. Got there like 5 minutes before they opened and they still had a few left after I left. Got the other two at midnight from Target's app and Walmart queue. I also wanted insurance that one of my online orders wouldn't get cancelled or something.
Actually the situation in Japan is VERY unique and different to America.
Every single retailer is doing lotteries....meaning you apply to get one and if you are lucky you get an invite. Usually it takes about a week or so to find out.
Also Japan has 2 models. The Japanese only model for ¥50,000 and the "international" model for ¥70,000. The expensive model is only available directly from Nintendo.
Luckily I won the lottery for the international model. Since you are only allowed to apply for one, most Japanese gamers are applying for the cheaper model making it much easier to buy the expensive one.
The only people I know of in real life with a switch are my friends children, not one adult.
It won’t
Why? There's already many M rated games on the Nintendo Switch...
No one thinks GTA 6 is coming to Switch 2. It'll be lucky to get GTA V.
I am no tech expert but if the rumors are saying that GTA6 is gonna run at 30 fps on xbox and ps5 then how will it run on switch 2? They haven't showcased what the actual switch 2 hardware is capable of so maybe it might end up running it.
There are also rumors that ff7 remake and rebirth are coming to switch 2 as well. Again remake can probably run pretty ok i guess but if rebirth, a full-blown open world game, was struggling at times on the base ps5 then i don't know how it will run on switch 2.
Not to mention how GTA6 and FF7 games will run on handheld mode. Maybe they got some crazy upscale in the hardware like the rumored DLSS from Nvidia or something. Will find out in April.
