Survival horror fans will recognize this game’s influences.
Echoes of the Living from MoonGlint is a throwback game to the original Resident Evil games 1- 3 with fixed camera angles and tank controls. The demo is available now via Steam and is great fun to play.
The game has been embroiled in controversy because all of its art comes from the Unreal Engine assets store. MoonGlint has taken highly arrogant actions against users who discovered this content, as they've claimed on their Twitter account that the game mechanics and art are theirs, when in fact they are freely available for sale in the Unreal Assrt Store. On Steam forums, the topic was discussed as a plagiarism of Resident Evil 3, with the creator being intolerant and threatening to sue anyone who criticizes the game negatively. It was also discussed in the forum that by selling the game, CAPCOM could take legal action, which MoonGlint ended up threatening against a forum user just for mentioning. On Twitter, a girl was harassed by them and several of their entourage for sharing images of the assets used in the game. This information was compiled on YouTube by PhantomaGames, and due to pressure, their video was censored, but part of the material can still be seen in their current videos.
