Gran Turismo 7 PSVR2 review: one of the best VR experiences on PS5 - Eurogamer

It's the quality of the games that will make or break PlayStation VR2 - and launch titles supplied in the review period did not quite convince. Gran Turismo 7 was made available to journalists and public alike at the headset's launch - and it's a game-changer. In this video, John breaks down how good the VR upgrade is, and how Sony achieved it, with head-to-head comparisons with the standard 'flat' version of the game.

F*ck yeah it is... pardon my language. I played it in VR for the first time last night. I tried to get into VR1 but had issues. The VR2 is so awesome. No lens fogging, higher res and fps. And Rez Infinite made me feel like being in the movie lawnmower man.

Can't wait for more.

SullysCigar474d ago

Lol your language is warranted @darthv72, I couldn't have said it better myself!

darthv72474d ago

I'm not very far into the game but I want to progress to experience the spectator mode. So far in replays I can only switch cars to follow or be inside or outside the car. I want to see things from the side of the road like some have said.

psplova474d ago (Edited 474d ago )

[Darth] Skip past the auto replay after a race. On the next screen, instead of hitting the continue/next option to the far right, look for the replay option and scroll down to VR REPLAY... ; )

darthv72474d ago

^^thanks... I will do that tonight after work.

MADGameR474d ago

Why would you go back to PSVR1 after trying it with PSVR2? LOL Your logic is flawed my friend.......

darthv72474d ago

I think you read that wrong. I didn't allude to going back to VR1 after getting VR2.... at all.

Now i will say i have several VR1 games i want to play, but I can't due to my own issues. I would hope many get the VR2 support so i may fully enjoy them. For now, i just dont play them.

anast474d ago

VR is the future and Sony has already got a head start.

Aloymetal474d ago

Kayak VR is also amazing. A must for VR!

mandf474d ago

I want it but I'm buying the vr, racing wheel, chair setup, and 4 games for it. Is it truly worth it as a must have? I will trust your opinion

darthv72474d ago

I've seen some of those racing chair setups... pretty nice. I'd want one with hydraulics to pitch and yaw with every turn.

Aloymetal474d ago

It is truly worth it, as a matter of fact after playing GT7, HCOM and a few others, Kayak VR looks the best and the immersion is jaw dropping. Absolutely stunning!

Darthv72

I'm getting a 500 max.wheel. I'm going through a divorce and this my treat to myself for 20 years of crap. Basic setup is all I need. I with you on wanting what you want.

mandf474d ago (Edited 474d ago )

Thank you I will get it. I agree it looks the best. It's going to be an expensive month

darthv72474d ago

okay... now i gotta try that out. It looks crazy real.

Aloymetal474d ago

You won't regret it, trust me. It's so good.

outsider1624474d ago

You should try Pavlov too...a sort of Counter strike game in VR

Aloymetal474d ago

Great, gotta look into that one.;)

mandf468d ago

Aloymetal I bought kayack and it was intense for my first vr game. Thank you for the suggestion. Wow oh wow. Much better than I thought it was going to be

Aloymetal468d ago

Ha, nice! Glad you liked it;)

Yeah even DF is amazed. It's really the next step in racing. I think even the way I'm driving it's diferent. This is next Gen racing. Amazing job from PD and Sony.

UltimateOwnage474d ago (Edited 474d ago )

Not just one of the best VR experience on PS5, one of the best VR experiences, period. It’s massively more immersive in VR, leagues better than GT Sport was on VR1 and easily one of the most complete virtual/simulation racing titles ever. So far VR2 is delivering the full meat VR quality PC users have been enjoying for years. Can’t wait to see what’s around the corner!

Cars, and more cars... Yet, they rarely add new locations where we can drive all those cars... smh.

MajorLazer21d ago

We may get a new track this update. The teaser never hints at anything more than the cars, gotta wait for the trailer to know more.

IRetrouk20d ago

There's over 110 layouts in the game, you raced em all? I know I haven't and I have 900 hours playtime

Gardenia20d ago

With the daily races they only use 4 tracks it feels like.

IRetrouk19d ago

That's true, cant lie lol, but I assume you have buddy's to play online with, if not, I got a group you can join, we race every weekend, tracks are random, we even throw weather in sometimes lol

CobraKai20d ago

Wow. That’s one entitled ass comment.

Gabrielmpf20d ago

I paid €70 for way less content than the previous Gran Turismo. Yeah, I'm entitled. Bunch of PS cult boys.

CobraKai20d ago

Wah wah wah. I can’t get more free stuff than what they’re giving me. Wah wah wah

Father__Merrin21d ago

Truly a purchase once and last all gen type of game

purple10120d ago

yes it is!, however I do hope they have a GT8 ready soon, because 7 its a cross gen, so there's more to be extracted for sure,

Babadook721d ago

Ok, sure. I’ll take more. There’s a lot of tracks already

Sgt_Slaughter21d ago

When you boil down the layouts/configurations, it's 38 tracks. Of those, only 19 are real-life tracks. That's a pretty low amount when there's hundreds of thousands of circuits that are available to add.

Babadook721d ago (Edited 21d ago )

That’s not low though. I don’t have a big preference for real world either, as GT7 has some very good original tracks too.
