For coop, get a used switch instead

I own a Switch and have never played co-op on it. I do play Elden Ring , Demons Souls and some other co/op games with my friends on PS5. Baldurs Gate 3 is the next game I’ll play co-op. Can’t do that on a Switch

I was thinking for couch casual immediate fun.. not online coop games that require some adaptation.

Scavengers to shut down in December

From GI.biz: "Free-to-play multiplayer shooter Scavengers will be shut down at the end of the year.

In a post on the title's website, Improbable said it will close Scavengers' servers on December 16, 2022, as it's seen a "decline in the playerbase."

"Whilst we explored many options to reinvigorate server population while the game is in early access, it became clear that it was unsustainable to continue development and live service," the message read. "We’re all proud of what we accomplished, and are grateful to every player who took the time to play, even if it was just for a short while."

I've never heard of it, and I live and breathe video games. The market is just too oversaturated for these types of f2p games.

*edit - of the 5 suggested articles on Scavengers listed underneath this one, none of them had a single comment on them. Even more, it was featured on "The Games You Forgot Released in 2021", so I'm obviously not alone on this!

I remember seeing this game before its release and thinking, this would be fun to play with mates. But we're all console players.
I kept tabs on it for a while but then it just disappeared off my radar.
It's a shame it's shutting because it does look like a fun game. I wonder if a console version would have helped.

Yea, I've gone through my years of being a more PC-centric gamer, so I definitely understand the appeal. Overall though, and especially now, I'm more console oriented.

Most all of the most successful f2p games now have a console presence. Aside from a few like Valorant, which I do believe will have a console port soon enough. I think it's necessary for visibility sake, otherwise the games can become easily lost when there are even more choices available and less centralized in the PC world. Steam and Epic can certainly help, but the newer releases will eventually drown them out unless they hit huge success early on.

Looking at this game now, it does look pretty nice! It looked pretty standard, possibly uninspired, until the blizzards started rolling in, and the survival aspect of the deep cold. The firefights inside of the thick blizzard looked especially fun.

Yea, it's too bad to see games like this end up in the gaming graveyard without ever really having a chance.
