RoboCop: Rogue City Announced for Consoles and PC

RoboCop Rrogue City announced! Coming in 2023.

darthv721438d ago

hmm... not much to see here. The last good RC game was RC vs Terminator on Genesis but before that it would be the Data East arcade classic. I had high hopes for the Titus made one for PS2/XB but sadly that one sucked. I will be cautiously optimistic about this one.

NeoGamer2321438d ago

Agreed. That was a teaser not a trailer.

But, I am kind of excited to see what they do with Robocop. There is a ton of potential for a good story driven shooter there!

lodossrage1438d ago

Ok, I never played RC vs Terminator.

But I did play the data east arcade game and the nes version. And I'm sorry, but I have to disagree on those being good. They sucked back when I was 8 years old playing them. I vividly remember trying to "trick" people in the neighborhood to exchange it with me for cooler NES games. Yeah, I was kinda a bastard as a kid lol. Unfortunately, nobody wanted it though

darthv721438d ago

well the NES ver was nowhere as good as the arcade. The arcade is still fun to play while the NES still sucks.

Knushwood Butt1438d ago

Loved the arcade game back in the day.
It was a buzz when you got that super powerful gun but had to use it wisely due to limited ammo.

DaveZero1437d ago

I'd say the one and only good RoboCop game was the side scrolling arcade release way way back In the 1990s.

Venoxn4g1437d ago

Robocop vs Terminator on Sega Genesis (Mega drive) was great also

cd11437d ago

The Robocop game on Amiga was good at the time.

darthv721437d ago

I liked that version as it was an arcade port.

Christopher1437d ago

Robocop on Game Boy was good.

Wait, TEYON is developing the game? They did the horrible Rambo one, but also the surprisingly good Terminator: Resistance.

isarai1438d ago

Yeah, hopefully this or more like the latter

1437d ago
MadLad1438d ago

Rambo seemed like a low budget hopeful cashgrab.
Resistance showed they have talent and are willing to put the work in.
It was by no means goty material, but it was a solid title that showed some real inspiration in certain aspects.

isarai1437d ago

Could also be that the rambo games were all they had the budget for at the time. But who knows, i just hope this Robocop game is good

Knightofelemia1438d ago (Edited 1438d ago )

From the trailer/teaser looks like they are using the real Robocop and not that 2014 reboot Robocop that Robocop is an insult and is fugly as shit. Hope Peter Weller comes back and lends his voice to Robocop in this game.

Marcello1438d ago

Without Peter Weller it will SUX

JayLin761437d ago

Brilliant! Nice nod to the original movie there!

seanpitt231438d ago

2 and half years at least to wait and 99% of these movie tie in games are low budget and trash

DeadlyFire1437d ago

Most movie tie in games only get 9 months of development before launching. This one at least is getting two years of development. It actually could be pretty good.

Sorry spelling police ...🤣How is this approved with spelling errors... We are trying to save society with gaming here 😂

This is 2021, we can't even afford to assign AI resources to do proof reading.

RoboCop: Rogue City - Unfinished Business | Character Intro Video

RoboCop has Unfinished Business and it starts close to home with an attack on the Metro West Precinct.

After which, RoboCop will find himself scaling the OmniTower, a housing project turned death trap as he battles his way to the top in order to protect himself and the citizens of Old Detroit.

During this climb, you'll be aided by new characters and butting heads against people with ties to Murphy's past.

RoboCop: Rogue City - Unfinished Business launches July 17th. Pre-purchase now to get the Prime Directives Pack.

darthv7210d ago

Taking place in Omni Tower makes me yearn for a Judge Dredd game. These guys could pull it off nicely.

Hey Siri, read the narration in a macho voice....

such a fantastic game. and it plays great on the portal. If they ever add a VR2 support, then it would be perfect.

MrDead50d ago (Edited 50d ago )

If you're on PC you can use UEVR, it works really well with Robocop. I'm Looking forward tho this DLC.

Man... i gotta step up my PC game. Havent built a new machine since 2010... and honestly i havent had the need to since I prefer consoles for all my gaming needs. Steamdeck has been good to supplement PC gaming that my old tower cant do.

Abnor_Mal50d ago

This was such a great game, wished I played it sooner, but then I wouldn’t have the joy of discovering something everyone else already knew. So much fun that I actually went after the platinum and got it, although it’s really not difficult to achieve.

I will be waiting and watching for the release of the dlc for this great game.

mkis00750d ago

Still a bit miffed they weren't able to perfectly recreate the auto9 sound from the first movie. It's a distinct sound and they just do not quite get there.

jznrpg50d ago

First game was great! My pile of games is ever growing but I’ll throw this on the pile sometime this year

Knushwood Butt50d ago

Playing the base game now. It's clunky but kinda fun.
I'm streaming it actually. Went screwy during my second session but the other two sessions have been fine.

Yesssss. Been wanting to give Robocop a whirl! Getting 80's nostalgia-slammed this month it seems, I guess I'll give Texas Chainsaw Massacre a shot too. Dad had me watching that stuff at like 7 years old back in the 80's. XD Game on!

TheEroica79d ago

Playing it now on steam deck. It was 9.99 recently. It's wonderful. Love it.

isarai79d ago

I think a lot of people will be pleasantly surprised with Robocop, one of my favorite games this gen

VenomUK79d ago

I heard that it's really good. Too many games but I will definitely give this a go as it seems actioney and I will be able to play in small chunks.

jznrpg79d ago

RoboCop and Digimon are good games. I don’t know much about Texas Chainsaw Massacre, I ffigured it was a multiplayer game and wrote it off.

Elda79d ago

I got rid of my copy of Robocop after finishing the game. Now I can get it through Plus to play the dlc releasing this summer.

darthv7279d ago

Robocop is bad ass... so good i had to get it twice.
