I doubt Sony will put most of their popular exclusives on PC. If they do that will be great. I won't get a PS5 if that happens

Jin_Sakai1510d ago (Edited 1510d ago )

“I doubt Sony will put most of their popular exclusives on PC. If they do that will be great. I won't get a PS5 if that happens“

Agreed. If that happens might as well say the heck with it and just build a PC.

Army_of_Darkness1509d ago

Naw, even if Sony ports all of their exclusives to pc, I'd still prefer the simple plug and play consoles.

AngelicIceDiamond1509d ago

"Agreed. If that happens might as well say the heck with it and just build a PC"

That'll set you back 1200 just on the rig alone not including the games. Have fun constantly updating meanwhile the PS5 will run their own games better on its own platform for a while anyway. Said this for 4 years since MS started doing it. if you're a born console gamer, you're sticking with it. Majority just don't wake up and spend a fortune on a rig like that. It just doesn't happen.

NecrumOddBoy1509d ago

They won't put new AAA games on PC unless it has a reason to be. HZD is a top tier AAA game and it's been 3 years.

Also, per the thumbnail. I really wish we could have gotten a 4K port of inFAMOUS1/2/FoB.

rainslacker1509d ago (Edited 1509d ago )

Unless it happens before I buy an actual console, then chances are I wouldn't build a PC just to play them. There are other benefits to PC of course, but if I have a PS console, why would I bother building a PC for them? A console is easy enough to just hook up to the TV and use. PC's can do this, and aren't anywhere near as difficult as they used to be, but for those that choose consoles over PC, the biggest reason from a hardware perspective is just because they're easy and affordable.

dolfa1509d ago (Edited 1509d ago )

@AngelicIceDiamond If you are poorfag you can pirate the games and then buy them when they are on discount. I had PC and PS4 PRO, sold them both and currently waiting for new titles to come out and will decide after that which hardware to buy.

Anyway i must say that I had more fun on PC playing modded and indie games which are not availible on PS4. It is also fact PC has lot more games than any console. Also ofcourse PC has additional value for being not only gaming hardware. The options on PS4 are very limited and i believe it is good choice if you are causal gamer.

+ The community of players on playstation are mostly kids, which is often annoying when playing multiplayer games. On PC the community is overall much more adult.

outsider16241508d ago (Edited 1508d ago )

Same here. I'll save up for a powerful gaming laptop. I own a store and so there are times where there aren't any customers. Imagine being able to pop in a few games of either PlayStation games and Xbox games.

And you can also work on it(word, excel etc), editing videos, browsing...
Damnn!!

Edit: I'd like to mention though that I'm saying this only if Sony releases day 1 of all their exclusives on pc. Because if they're going to release it 3 or 4 years down the line, ill play on console then. Im not going to wait 3-4 years to play on pc and that too at 60$.

@captain

What makes you think they'd port PS5 games?

anonymousfan1509d ago (Edited 1509d ago )

Ppl are arguing you would need a PS5 to play exclusives from day one but I'd gladly wait another year to play on PC

Edit: type o

Mr_Writer851509d ago

@anonymousfan

Would you wait 5? Or 10 years? As there is literally zero evidence that Sony are going to release all their first party games at all on PC..

Never mind that there is zero evidence they'd release PS5 games a year after on PC 😂

PC gamers getting excited over one port of a 3 year game.

anonymousfan1509d ago

In reply to your last comment; I agree Sony never said they would release all PS4/5 exclusives on PC however they did say if they do release on PC, it will always be after they released on PS4 i.e. not at the same time. As of now I agree 100% with you Sony has made no statements towards releasing all their games on PC and as such I am totally getting a PS5 when it comes out but if Sony where to officially say that most of their games will release on PC a year after releasing on PS4 such as Detroit, Death Stranding and now Horizon then I'd rather personnally wait and get them all on PC.

darthv721509d ago

Even if they do... I will still get a PS console. I'm a console person first and foremost. Xbox games going to PC hasn't swayed me so why would PS games?

Also, is the 916 in your name reference to Sac town area code?

Bathyj1509d ago

Exactly why they shouldn't and won't do it. PlayStation still has real exclusives, and even if they eventually trickle on to PC 3 years later no gamer truely anticipating these games would wait that long. What you would really be doing is double dipping.

Xavi4K1509d ago

they best exclusive this gen is GOD and HZD. HZD made it to PC so the rest will eventually

Atticus_finch1509d ago

You managed to be wrong twice.

1509d ago
dietis_h1509d ago

they're not going to put new games on the freaking pc.

neutralgamer19921509d ago (Edited 1509d ago )

Stop overreacting HZD is a 3 year old game. If anything by releasing on PC the fanbase will grow for sequels

Sony will never put their AAA must have exclusives on PC on release but we may see some older titles end up on PC. They depend on PlayStation brand so in no way do they want to make their own brand inferior. Ms on the other hand don't depend on Xbox brand

SoulClaw1509d ago

And you think Sony doesn´t know this ? Herman Hulst said they wouldn´t release their games on pc and playstation at the same time.

And that´s good for both parties. Because if Sony can´t stay profitable, that means if they don´t move consoles and software, you won´t see the PC port anytime soon either.

I think releasing PS Exclusives after a long time, is good for the PC Player and Sony. I mean a real gamer will get the games as soon as they release cause he knows how much Work is put into that..... But yeah....for the greedy people that don´t appreciate thousands of hours of work and need the sale prices so the Devs earn nothing....because that is good for making new games......yeah sure..... why not. Let´s do it.

People starting to think "Oh, so now I don´t have do buy a Playstation anymore?"

Yes - if you want to play the game 3-4 years later, stick to it.

But if you wonder why in 10 years there won´t be any Sony Exklusives more.....take a look in the mirror.

PC Gaming is what I do mostly......but the best Games are Playstation Exklusives. Do I want all those games on my PC ?

No - Why ?

Because Sony and Nintendo have iconic games, that simply belong to them and their consoles. And I respect that, since my childhood. I can afford those games and I am happy with the way it is.

I just fear the stupidity of the mass because they don´t see what will happen if "Playstation Exclusives" are gone.

1509d ago
JunMei1509d ago

They likely will; however, based on their official statement, we would have to wait potentially years before we get the port.

Sony officially stated that Horizon Zero Dawn was a special case where the strategy is to get PC gamers exited to get a Playstation and that they still remain committed to their hardware exclusives 100%.

Are these opinion peaces going to ignore even Sony's official statements and pretend that their games are all going to PC now?

Crazy.

Majin-vegeta1510d ago

And to maybe put a few minds at ease, releasing one first-party AAA title to PC doesn’t necessarily mean that every game now will come to PC. In my mind, Horizon Zero Dawn was just a great fit in this particular instance. We don’t have plans for day and date [PC releases], and we remain 100% committed to dedicated hardware.

They know damn well that the reason ppl love playstation consoles are the exclusives .. they are not stupid

ReadyPlayer221509d ago

Worldwide Studios aren't hiring people with DX11/DX12 knowledge to port their games on Xbox. I can guarantee more are coming, Hulst's PR speak literally hints this isn't the only one.

The fact that Fanboys feel "disrespected" or "their damaging the brand" is hilarious to me.

Mr_Writer851509d ago

@ready

Like Predator Hunting grounds.

Or the rumoured TLOU 2 stand alone multiplayer.

Basically PC gamers may get multiplayer games (makes sense) but if PC gamers thinking that Sony will be porting more than a handful of the their SP games, and even porting PS5 games they're living in dream land.

Multiplayer games
Old PS4/PS3 games
VR games

That's it. Maybe Spiderman as it's 3rd party IP.

1509d ago
Hungryalpaca1509d ago

@Mr_Writer

And yet not even 2 years ago Sony putting ANY of their exclusives on Pc was unimaginable and everyone said it would never happen.

Mr_Writer851509d ago (Edited 1509d ago )

@echo
"Anything is possible now"

Although Sony have already said this changes very little.

Also that's assuming PC gamers pony up for the game. I mean if Sony don't make enough day one full price sales that will kill any chance of PC gamers getting more.

Personally I hope it sells millions on PC, then PC gamers can fund more PS5 exclusives without getting to play them on PC.

Maybe Sony will toss them the odd bone, but again, the more it makes on PC the more PS5 owner benefit with more game.

@hungry

True, but if you can't see what they're doing, they're basically giving PC gamers a taste, this is so when/if those PC gamers do jump onto a console they pick PS5 and not Xbox.

Again if HZD is a huge success they may port more games. But their business is selling consoles and this gen proves they know games sell consoles.

rainslacker1509d ago (Edited 1509d ago )

They can use Vulcan nowadays. Neat thing about new architectures is that they don't have to be compatible to DX or OGL/Vulcan to work better. They already have their own rendering pipelines which work with any GPU that would meet the minimum requirement. That doesn't have to be Vulcan or DX, just need a driver that supports the interface. DX is still dominate in the PC space, but OGL is becoming more popular...mostly because it's low level access seems more efficient on PC GPU's.

Bladesfist1509d ago

@Rainslacker You mean Vulkan is getting more popular? Khronos and AMD have dropped ongoing support for OpenGL in favour of Vulkan. Even then Vulkan support is kind of strange with companies like Valve writing drivers and shader compilers to increase performance on certain vendor / OS combinations.

"Sony officially stated that Horizon Zero Dawn was a special case where the strategy is to get PC gamers exited to get a Playstation"

And by "officially stated" you mean you pulled it out of your ass. The only official statement made was by Hermen Hulst, and it was that they ported it to PC because it was a "Great fit".

RazzerRedux1509d ago

""And by "officially stated" you mean you pulled it out of your ass. "

No, he didn't. This is what was said:

'"And to maybe put a few minds at ease, releasing one first-party AAA title to PC doesn't necessarily mean that every game now will come to PC. In my mind, Horizon Zero Dawn was just a GREAT FIT IN THIS PARTICULAR INSTANCE. We don't have plans for day and date [PC releases], and we remain 100% committed to dedicated hardware."

That isn't out of line with what Thundercat77 said at all.

Um....look at your own post, Einstein.

"The only official statement made was by Hermen Hulst, and it was that they ported it to PC because it was a "Great fit"."

My post was referencing that idiotic tidbit of yours where you conveniently parsed out two words from the text.

"but what how in the hell did you get "where the strategy is to get PC gamers exited to get a Playstation" from "Horizon Zero Dawn was just a GREAT FIT IN THIS PARTICULAR INSTANCE" ?!"

I didn't. That was derived from:

"Sure. I think it’s important that we stay open to new ideas of how to introduce more people to PlayStation, and show people maybe what they’ve been missing out on."

Tell you what. Why don't you actually read the damn interview again and really try to read this time. You are making yourself look extremely ignorant right now.

https://blog.us.playstation...

rainslacker1509d ago

He did say that this was an experiment, and that they felt H:ZD was a perfect fit to try that experiment.

Personally, I don't think he's wrong, as H:ZD does have a lot of things power PC gamers like, and would look stunning on a high end rig. It's also a lot of fun.

There was more than one paragraph to the quote, and they're both connected.

xX-oldboy-Xx1509d ago

KaaF - Struggling with words haha, calm down big fella Sony will continue on its usual path of great hardware and experiences only available on PS5.

Mr_Writer851509d ago (Edited 1509d ago )

@kaaf

Can you even read?

"Sure. I think it’s important that we stay open to new ideas of how to introduce more people to PlayStation, and show people maybe what they’ve been missing out on."

That was by the head of WWS so yes it was officially stated.

I think they should have released Dreams on PC rather than Horizon in my humble opinion (with disagrees)...

Applejack1509d ago

If you’re going to give your opinion, stand by it regardless of what people think. Btw, I agree lol.

SlagWolf1509d ago

Don’t think that’s really gonna work. Now if it’s true that the ps5 is BC with all Sony consoles back to the ps1 and all digital purchases carry over and they are committed to getting as many of there classic games on the ps5 digitally as well as physical compatibility I will pick one up. I’m not grabbing one for just a few Sony exclusives

Xavi4K1509d ago

for now....nothing is special case it will sell like hot cake and they will realese the reset

AnubisG1509d ago

Sony also said that HZD is a Playstation exclusive. Not a console exclusive, not a timed exclusive but an exclusive. I know that word means nothing now but this should show you how much you should believe what Sony is saying. Once HZD sells a lot on PC, more games will follow and you can take that to the bank.

Killzone and Resistance would be awesome with keyboard and mouse on PC. I'd love to see all PS games on PC, but I understand the need to keep PlayStation consoles the focal point of gaming for Sony.

darthv721509d ago

I can play almost all PS1 games on PC using the old school program Bleem!. Man that was fun to do and made all the games look so much better. But that is just emulation and not quite the same... still cool though.

TeamIcoFan1509d ago

Spider-man ps4 would be badass on PC.

bishup251509d ago (Edited 1509d ago )

just last month. you know what would be a good game to bring to pc? Horizon Zero Dawn. "receives 50 disagrees + perma banned." N4G "no fueling rumors allowed here."

rainslacker1509d ago

Last month it was still a rumor. I imagine there was more to your comment than what you're saying to get a permaban from just that.
