‘Alien: Isolation’ Turns 5 Years Old – Why it’s a Perfect Adaptation

Alien: Isolation is a special game; every single element of it works. Even in wireframe, without the Alien-themed coat of paint, it makes for a completely satisfying gameplay experience.

Its a crime that there`s no sequel to this game. Huber called it a masterpiece & i totally agree.

Psychotica1663d ago

I was just thinking the same thing last night. That game was very well done, gave me the creeps.

Futureshark1663d ago

At least let's have a PSVR version please!

A masterpiece in it's own right. Thank you Creative Assembly for giving me my true (*Ridley Scott's) ALIEN experience, and making the XENO,(*the perfect organism) SCARY AGAIN. The only Alien game ever made that brought me back the sheer emotional 'TERROR' I felt way back in 1979 when I 1st viewed it at the theaters.

I honestly am mixed on this game I enjoyed the first 3/4 of the game but the last 1/4 really soured my experience, that being said its riduculous that there never has been a sequel for this game.

Concertoine1663d ago

Yeah - it has Bioshock syndrome. Don't know why these immersive sim kinda games consistently have a really bad final act. Prey has a similar problem. Idk if Alien counts as an immersive sim, but it certainly is inspired by them.

I tried to play this game twice and could never get into it. The concept was gd but i dont think it was executed too well.

I know its opinions and all but people calling it a masterpiece is just ridiculous. Come on...

skiggy341663d ago

I ask with all seriousness. Is this game really that good? I have had it for 3yrs and still havent played it.

Concertoine1663d ago

Its probably in my top 10 games for the gen. It isn't perfect - the game overstays its welcome by like 4 hours and the alien AI doesn't totally hit realism (although the unpredictable alien mod makes it pretty much perfect). But the atmosphere, music, sound effects all make it more than worth playing.

If you like horror games, no game quite hits the level of fear and vulnerability that this game can give you

Amazing game if you're a fan of the series, and a great game if not.

warriorcase1663d ago

If your a fan of the Alien 1 and 2 then there has never been a more faithful recreation of the tone and feeling.

tbh it doesn’t need a sequel. Fantastic game but not something to make into a long running series.

Good month imo. I'll play Gotham Knights and House of Ashes. I'm finishing up Disco E on Steam right now - that's a superb game.

House of Ashes was weird but one of the good weird ones! Really enjoyed it
