So, slightly brighter and more color-accurate screen and better system cooling.

It has a better processor and a better battery too

UltraDSA2135d ago

How is it better, I read that it is less capacity?

rob-GP2135d ago

@UltraDSA - the new model Switch has a better battery than the original model by about 40% - the Mini has a better battery be about 10% (although that's probably because other features were removed).

I think you've confused the mini with the new base model.

Peekayboo2135d ago

It doesn't have a better battery or cooling both of those improvements came from Nvidia's the new Tegra x1 chip that has a better manufacturing process which it less than huge 20 nm process the old chip used.

"Die shrinks are beneficial to end-users as shrinking a die reduces the current used by each transistor switching on or off in semiconductor devices while maintaining the same clock frequency of a chip, making a product with less power consumption (and thus less heat production), increased clock rate headroom, and lower prices.[2] Since the cost to fabricate a 200-mm or 300-mm silicon wafer is proportional to the number of fabrication steps, and not proportional to the number of chips on the wafer, die shrinks cram more chips onto each wafer, resulting in lowered manufacturing costs per chip."

I've got a day one Switch and it sounds like the fan is rubbing against something. So overheating is an issue I deal with and I think it causes the graphical glitches in Hyrule Warriors. Was hoping for a Switch Pro but if one doesn't come out soon, I am least glad to see them fixing heating with this revision. Just wish it could get a CPU update so that Fire Emblem Warriors has more than 10 enemies on screen when playing in multiplayer mode.

Peekayboo2135d ago

The V2 has a CPU/GPU update from Nvidia, Nintendo only improved the screen and maybe the joycons.

Bleucrunch2135d ago

irrelevant if you ask me. Nothing significant enough, which is probably why Nintendo didn't advertise this. Why couldn't they have released this as the original??

anonymousfan2135d ago

Kinda like the Xbox One S and PS4 slim... Minor improvements which are probably more cost effective today vs when the console initially released.

Bleucrunch2135d ago

I agree with the Xbox One S and PS4 slim, but didn't those modifications came mid cycle through this current generation. The switch was released two years ago and I doubt that this is the mid cycle for the switch in any respect.

Too soon for a modification and this new so called model should have been the original model, and they STILL haven't address most of the core issues with the console...this was done a little quieter than other releases lol....

Nintendo not fooling me or you with this one.

ocelot072135d ago

I can't speak for the OG Xbox One. But the OG PS4 has 2 or 3 revisions before the slim came out. Not much difference between them other than the fans and maybe the blu-ray drive if I remember correctly. There was the launch model then the B chassis and then the C chassis then the Slim model.

Capcom Fighting Collection 2 (NS) Review | VGChartz

VGChartz's Evan Norris: "No matter how you experience Capcom Fighting Collection 2 — online or offline, in single-player bouts against CPU opponents, or in versus mode against human rivals — you're likely to have a good time. While there are a couple of middling games, most of the titles on offer are good or great; a handful are even generationally great. Furthermore, the quality-of-life features and online connectivity make them more approachable and accessible than ever. The inclusion of Dreamcast ports and in-depth tutorials would make the collection even more valuable, but even without those things it's easy to recommend. Here's hoping Capcom still has something left in the tank for Capcom Fighting Collection 3."
