The Crew 2: PAX West 2017 VS Beta Comparison Videos

They first played the game at PAX West 2017 where they captured the gameplay footage. Now Skewed and Reviewed have posted video comparing that early gameplay with footage from the recent beta.

Its actually fun and I do not go for racing games.

KickSpinFilter2153d ago

Played the first not gonna fall for the curse.

Looks like a dumed down version of Forza horizon 3 imo

Garethvk2153d ago

Forza is straight up and intense racing. This is more of a mix of arcade style and off road.

mcstorm2153d ago

You taking about horizon there or Forza ms?

i hated the announcers talking while i was racing like this is an xsport or something, will be passing on this, and its super dumb that I was playing with my wheel and then all of a sudden flying a plane, like did they even consider game controls? lOl

Garethvk2153d ago

That is a good point. Controller is not ideal for each mode and trying to alternate us not possible unless you pause, change, and go.

sizeofyou2153d ago

That's not unique to this. Could apply to GTA, Just Cause, Far Cry...any game where driving is key, but not the only aspect of gameplay. Just an issue of game diversity. There is no solution - except a wheel with built in fight stick, controller and joystick/hand throttle combination... 🙃

Garethvk2153d ago

Yeah but at least GTA makes it a bit simpler to use one for all.

Garethvk2153d ago (Edited 2153d ago )

When I played it at PAX that was an issue. You would have the controls set for driving and all.of a sudden you were having to fly and then boat race. It w as one thing to have a Producer and developer right there telling you what to hit and such but when you are racing th the clock and other players; you do not have this luxury and time counts.

@Sizeofyou

all of the games you listed ARE NOT RACING GAMES why the heck would i use a wheel for those games? you are really reaching, this is a racing game, and it has wheel compatibility, why in the world will they not think to make controls adjustable atleast so if you're using a wheel it won't require the user to grab their controller. I'm surprised you didn't list Ace Combat LMAO freaking ridiculous.

@C-H-E-F the gamepad was adequate to play all modes. It takes some getting used to as some cars are a bit overpowered and really have issues cornering where I almost had to come to a near stop. Joseph who is playing in the videos is more of a racing game fan so he knew some tricks to play to make things work but even he had issues with using the side walls. I had some issues with moving from car to plane as the way the plane responded was a bit slower than I expected and the motorcycles really were a bit touchy when taking some turns. The boating for me was my favorite part.

I understand that, but seeing that this is a RACING game, and I own a 400$ racing wheel 900$ setup, I figured that they'd have their crap together seeing that the first game didn't even have proper wheel support. However, it doesn't... once you get a wheel, the last thing you want to do is go back to a gamepad while looking at your beasty setup like it's for nothing. Gran Turismo will continue to be my racer, I just thought that The Crew 2 would be better suited as a racer this go around seeing it's the second one and they knew they dropped the ball for us (wheel racers) last time around.

I also, understand not everyone has wheels, so this is just my personal gripe about the game, ya'll can continue to enjoy it, not everyone has to agree about everything haha.

Garethvk2152d ago

Still, you made a big investment and it would be nice if people supported it better.
