Super Mario Odyssey is a Much Needed Return to Mario’s Traditional 3D Roots | Hardcore Gamer

Super Mario Odyssey is Nintendo’s first visit back to their traditional 3D Mario setup since Super Mario Galaxy 2, complete with a variety of new abilities for Mario to use in brand new worlds. While the 3D titles for 3DS and Wii U were certainly great platformers, they didn’t give players that sense of satisfaction they get from collecting every last object found in a world to be rewarded with a Star, or in this case a Moon to power Mario’s Odyssey adventure.

As someone who's never owned a Mario Game outside of Mario Kart, I have to say, this game looks like a lot of fun! I don't have a Switch though and I've not yet decided if I'll get one, but I'll definitely think about it.

My top 3 are Mario 3, Mario World and Mario 64. Mario Odyssey is also excellent, and I enjoyed Sunshine but didn't care for the Galaxy series.

Agreed. I think a lot of the AC: H sales have to do with early lockdown players!

I mean, I would've played it anyway. But I guess there's a lot of people who got into it because of the hype and their new found free time!

Nintendo made out like bandits with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It's the same game that was on the WiiU except they added 2 item boxes like in double dash.

It's the Capcom method:

1. Add a new word to the end of the title and features that should've been expected first time around.
2. Charge full price for it.
3. Profit.
