The world has gone backwards. Next thing you'll tell me Activision are going to stop sacrificing children on Thursdays.

spicelicka3146d ago

Don't say such blasphemy, they will trace your IP and take your firstborn!

oof463146d ago

Stop saying such ludicrous things. Everybody knows they sacrifice their children on Fridays. Thursdays is live chickens.

quent3145d ago

Its The only way to get such great Black Friday deals, sacrifices needs to be made ;)

Considering Titanfall 2 is not selling as well as the first one, EA is hoping free DLC will convince people to buy it though it would have been a bit smarter to push it back into Spring 2017 where Battlefield 1/Infinite Warfare arent hogging up all the space.

_-EDMIX-_3146d ago

The DLC being free was announced before the game released.....

JBryant06193146d ago

I guess people dont care about the free DLC since few people are buying Titanfall 2

_-EDMIX-_3146d ago

How many cared about it when Halo 5 and Rainbow Six Siege did it?

I don't disagree with you I actually don't really think they're free downloadable content is that big of a deal to most consumers because I don't believe most consumers are even playing the game long enough to care about a number count in regards to content.

The one thing this site and clearly other gaming communities do online is they absolutely exaggerate downloadable content.

Electronic Arts released some figures regarding Battlefield 3 in terms of its premium members and it turned out only 3 million people even purchased the premium.

Which is something I've always theorized for a long time that the absolute majority could not possibly be all purchasing downloadable content.

Gaming communities like n4g always exaggerate a game having downloadable content as if they're really missing something when the studies actually show the majority of gamers are not even completing games and the majority of gamers are not even gaming on a multiplayer game past 100 hours so it begs the question why complain about content when the study showing the majority don't even game long enough to care about such a thing?

I remember reading somewhere that only like 75% of the people who purchased Mass Effect 2 even beat the actual game, which I thought was extremely odd because it's about a 20 or 25 hour game.

Then I realized I do not make up the majority of Gamers, the majority of gamers in the mass millions are not out here 100%ing games or spending 100 or 200 hours in a multiplayer game.

So free DLC being on several games not being displayed in regards to higher sales kind of proves the overwhelming majority isn't even playing the game long enough to see this as a benefit to purchase it over other titles.

The hardcore like myself and clearly like you probably do, but the absolute Mass majority this is simply a once-over they play it for a couple hours and they move on. Consider that is the case for most games though.

I honestly think that the community seriously needs to get to grips with reality considering the majority of Gamers they were people that were on here that had this strange belief that titles like Battlefront we're not going to move huge Millions simply because the lack of content, yet they absolutely completely disregarded the majority of gamers are not playing games for 100 hours and they simply do not care and at the end of the day Battlefront moved 14 million units as I predicted.

It's not saying I support the game having a lack of content it's simply me saying the majority are not gaming like we are.

if you have an account on here and you're passionately talking about games it's very likely you are not the majority lol.

@EDMIX: Whoa, you leave RS:S out of this. :)

That game is alive and doing well.

_-EDMIX-_3146d ago

@oof- lol

I'm not saying that it failed overall I'm merely saying that adding free downloadable content may not add as much as a sales boost as people seem to think.

Star Wars Battlefront has proved I do not believe people are overwhelmingly not purchasing a game because of downloadable contents existence , therefore I do not believe people will be purchasing a game in droves because of the existence of free downloadable content.

I think Titanfall 2 will be fine and I intend to purchase it later on next year when I have some more time to enjoy its multiplayer. I've heard great things about it single player please don't let my comment to take anything away from your enjoyment from the game I'm simply talking about sales and numbers. I don't mean anything personal regarding the statements.

oof463146d ago

@EDMIX: It's funny, if you think about it. People bitch and complain about season passes, but free downloadable content doesn't do a dent with sales.

iTechHeads3146d ago

Titanfall 1's DLC was made free as well once they realized no one was buying it.
It just doesn't make sense to split a community that is already so small.

The game was flop(which was obviously anticipated by EA).

I mean you can't sell DLC to a game community that is already extremely small. It's not EA being nice, its EA using common sense.

I agree with this. The time travel mechanics. The sense of scale. The relationship with your mech. The bosses all had personalities. It's a wonderful game.

mastershredder410d ago

Yeah it was good, but it only did the time travel bit in one level. Dishonered 2 did the same thing. Now how about a game where it's implemented throughout the gameplay? Singularity says Hello (and deserves so much more recognition).

Never say never, I really didn't expect to ever see Space Marine 2 and 12 years later its almost here.
So there is still hope for all these games.

Chocoburger497d ago

I've completed 5 of the games on the list, but the author forgot to include Advent Rising. It was supposed to be a trilogy, but it bombed hard, and the two sequels never got made. It was Mass Effect, a console generation before Mass Effect.

The game is buggy and unpolished, it needed a few more months of development, but the potential was there. At the end of the game, you have all these super abilities, I remember the stomp attack that created a shockwave being especially powerful.

shinoff2183497d ago

I personally think days gone will recieve some sort of sequel at some point. I'm personally also hoping it's not the rumored multiplayer online stuff. I'd think most that enjoyed it would rather thisnto.

Knightofelemia497d ago

Sony needs to dust off Sly Cooper and Days Gone so needs a sequel two of my favorite Sony titles. Bulletstorm I love great game wish it also got a sequel. And I wish Namco would finally give Enslaved a sequel another great game.

A best all time mecha game list without Zone of the Enders even on the list is 100% crap to me. Worth saying twice though not intentional
