With virtual reality headsets making their way into the hands and onto the heads of gamers, different developers are trying various ideas in order to tap into that arena, and create something that fits well in VR. You’ll have games that put you in a story and others that are more fast paced. ShortBreak Studios’ The Collider 2 falls into the latter category. It isn’t the most obvious candidate for VR, but when experienced you’ll see how well it works.
Bring your best reflexes and leave your motion sickness at the door as we review The Collider 2, available on PC and VR Headsets: Oculus Rift & HTC Vive. Navigate a high-speed spaceship through the treacherous passages of an alien mothership in a series of mission-based obstacle courses. I just wished someone would have warned me I’d see myself explode more times than there are stars in the sky.
Space, the final frontier! Well this year it seems everyone is hot on the space themes in gaming. So what makes The Collider 2 any different? Read on.
Gaming Boulevard reviewed the Collider 2 and decided:
I liked the game a lot but there isn’t a big learning curve, the game doesn’t really build up from zero to hero. Some levels were extremely difficult even within the first stages. It won’t be weird if you start screaming out of frustration since you collided into the same wall for your 54th time. The game is simple but it does give you a sense of tough progression with all these challenges along the way.
The game is also VR ready, it can be amazing playing this game with a VR headset but give yourself some time in getting used to this very fast paced game. This “simple” game will turn into a chaotic hell with this VR system in mind but it’s a worth a try!
