Ubisoft dev calls Watch Dogs a great game, 'the beginning of something bigger'

Ubisoft just went through the process of launching yet another major IP in Tom Clancy's The Division, but in 2014, the publisher released another new IP in Watch Dogs.

Though I did indeed like the game myself I wouldn't say it was great...it was good.
Still though this is like asking a guy who makes mountain dew if he thinks Pepsi is great.
If he likes his job, he'll say yes.

Most games have room for improvement. I personally thought Watch Dogs was a good game. I enjoyed it.

Same here. I feel like people thought it was cool to shit on it when it came out for some reason. If watch dogs 2 has a more enjoyable main character and don't kill off my favorite character i'll be super happy.

I feel like it would of been a better movie than a game. It was ok but nothing special compared to most open world games today. Can it improve and get better? Sure! . It would be cool to see a watch dogs set in Paris or London. I rated the first one a 6/10 . It was just way to empty & the story was pretty lame to me.

I was overhyped and then greatly disappointed by the game. For anything labeled Watch Dogs in the future I will wait for at least 70%+ discounts.

Often the case for new IP (especially with Ubi) that the sequel usually lives up to the originals lofty expectations. Wasn't a bad game, just failed to deliver what they initially demoed.

Played on Wii U and thought the game was quite good. I enjoyed the 50 or so hours I put in and was well worth the price. No major complaints from me.

Well, this wouldn't be the first time as far as Ubisoft is concerned.

The first Assassin's Creed was very underwhelming once it released, but they improved majorly on the formula on subsequent secuels.

Red Steel 1 was a disaster for Wii, if reviewers are to be believed. Red Steel 2, on the other hand, was great.

Watch Dogs, as far as I know, wasn't actually a good game, all things considered. It just disappointed everyone because they hype behind that game was absurd. Seriously, it was the most over-hyped game I ever saw on N4G, where not a single day came by without the main page being cluttered with Watch Dogs news, it was astounding and annoying.

So, here's hoping they make a sequel and improve everything for it, for the fans of the first one. Cheers.

A games quality should be equal or exceed its marketing hype or at least deliver what was shown, the dev should raise his standards or get a dictionary, the word "great" doesn't mean " just ok".
