Bidness Etc: Sleeping Dogs was an original and excellent open-world action title and Bidness Etc argues that a sequel or prequel would be even better.

Such an amazing underrated game

DaReapa3113d ago (Edited 3113d ago )

Underrated and amazing it was. And I especially loved the focus on melee combat.

I'm usually not one to campaign for sequels given the rate at which they've been pushed upon us over the last two gens, but given the amount of time since the original Sleeping Dogs, I'd say a sequel would be welcomed.

HELL YES! iwas actually fully expecting an announcement at the VGAs.i mean the first came out around the same time as tomb raider, deus ex, and hitman and all of those got sequels now. not only that but United Front Games has been very quiet since Sleeping Dogs released, yeah there' that tiad wars but for one they have two full teams in their studio, and two there's no way tiad wars is even taking up one of those teams as its really just 99% assets from sleeping dogs. Really feel like we should be hearing something real soon

The game wasn't that good to begin with. A bad Yakuz/GTA ripoff.

It's A Crime That There's No Sleeping Dogs 2 Yet

Huzaifah from eXputer: "Sleeping Dogs from the early 2010s is one of the best open-world games out there but in dire need of a resurgence."

LG_Fox_Brazil64d ago

I agree, I consider the first one a cult classic already

isarai64d ago

You say "yet" as if it's even possible anymore. United Front Games is gone, along with anyone that made this game what it is

CrimsonWing6963d ago

That’s what happens when games sell poorly. And I’ve seen people wonder why people cry when a game sells badly… this is your answer.

solideagle63d ago

Majority of the time it's true but if a company/publisher is big (in terms of money), they can take a hit or 2. e.g. I am not worried about Rebirth sales as Square will make Remake 3 anyway but if FF 17 doesn't sell then Square might need to look for alternative. <-- my humble opinion

Abnor_Mal63d ago

Doesn’t Microsoft own the IP now since they acquired Activision?

DaReapa63d ago

No. Square Enix owns the IP.

Abnor_Mal63d ago

Oh okay, Activision owned True Crime, but when that didn’t sell as intended it was canceled. Six months later Square Enix bought the rights and changed the title to Sleeping Dogs.*

*As per Wikipedia

Sleeping Dogs was a sleeper hit back then. It was fantastic. It actually still is. Would love a sequel to this, or at least a revive of True Crime series.

Do they explain in the video why there are two numbers 3? Starfield and Tears of the Kingdom?

It's always refreshing to see games embracing the streaming community.

Silent Hills cancellation was a travesty.

mrbearbear332d ago

I still wonder to this day if it was a reboot, or sequel.

cammers1995333d ago

Lol. The tags made it so I didn't have to visit your website.

goldwyncq332d ago

Kojima wouldn't have started his own studio if Silent Hills didn't get cancelled so even if it stung at first, I'm fine with it.

i remember being so excited for patriots for years, only to have them release that siege trash. i hate how multiplayer games, pvp in particular, have ruined so many potentially good games.
