In the US alone? Nice work Toad! Not bad for one month's sales in one territory!

Ark_3392d ago

It was sold out almost everywhere in it's first week here in germany. Even amazon didn't have any stock. I think retailers underestimated the demand.
Good, fun and relaxing game btw.

I think some games are getting the wrong roles.

Bayonetta 2 should be the game on that headline. With 135K copies sold to date in the United States it's just not doing good. It's such a shame that a minor title from Nintendo EAD Tokyo it's seeing an overwhelming reception and a big budget PlatinumGames title it's not getting the commercial success it deserves. The probabilities of getting a third game are now dreadful.

I'm sorry, but for once, I'd say some Wii U owners chose the wrong game. Wrong games, Hyrule Warriors with all its mediocrity it's doing well for the fanservice it has got.

Bayonetta 2 was my single player GOTY so I'm with you. I'm losing faith in the Wii U userbase.

Also, is that you from VGChartz?

Metallox3391d ago

@Locknuts

Yes, I go there sometimes.

Fun game but I'm almost done with it already, and wish the toad amiibo would have come out with the game... but I guess it will give me a reason to go back and play it some more.

This is good, but disapointing at the same time, captain toad has no business selling more than games like Wonderful 101. I'm sorry but it has to be said, In my opinion the worst current fanbse is the portion of the Nintendo fanbase that only buys legacy Nintendo franchise games.Because of them, we may never get a sequel to one of the if not the best game of 2013.

DarkBlood3392d ago

cant exactly blame them for that. its not like they are obligated to be interested in wonderful 101 if that is the game your wanting a sequel for?

i mean id get a game that looks interesting to me out of all unknown franchises but as soon as something familiar steps in well its a higher chance that will be bought first.

Big_Game_Hunters3391d ago (Edited 3391d ago )

I understand that you can't force someone to like somthing, but a lot of it is just people being closed minded and too afraid to try new things. I just don't get some people that claim to love some games but turn around and say they have no interest other games not to different from what they claim to "love". This applies to more than that specific group of Nintendo fans.

The stereotype that Nintendo fans only buy mario and zelda didn't just magically become a thing, its based on fact. Hell even Zelda and Metroid sales pale in comparison to Mario and pokemon.

DarkBlood3391d ago

well there is a fan-base for Mario and Pokemon beyond the gamer category which we can attribute higher sales too so its a losing ground no matter what.

i like mario but i love the zelda franchise even more which i feel like they dont do enough of compared with mario for good reasons no doubt.

but then again with the recent situation going on makes it a bit annoying ish for me

sales doesn't matter.
Platinum Games just want to make games.

pretty good numbers for US only for a budget game.

I was waiting for dq11 sale. Might be time to buy.

deleted1420d ago (Edited 1420d ago )

Took them forever to put it on sale on the US store! It was on sale for the EU store back on the New Years sale, and at least 1 other time. I had waited so long, I just knew the minute I dropped $60 on it, it would end up going on sale. Took longer than I thought though. I nabbed DQXI S and also DQ Builders 2 last night. Both great games!

I had 7 1/2 hours in the DQXI S demo, so I already knew I loved it. Glad my progress carried over.

Nintendo’s Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker Receives Labo VR Kit Support

Only in Japan at the moment.

I will have to try this. Switch 2(whenever that comes out) should be able to display at least very good VR. I would love it to have a 4K display, but its Nintendo.
