I just keep all of that in mind for when I run out of other things to play. Right now I have the Steam sales, Valiant Hearts, and Max to keep me busy. Game saves are the life blood of any title. In the Xbox 360 Microsoft added the ability for users to manually save games in the cloud. This way, they didn’t have to carry around a flash drive or move a hard drive in between two Xbox 360s. Users loved the feature and it caught on.

The only thing that kept cloud game saving from being amazing was the lack of any actual syncing. Instead of creating game saves and syncing them automatically, the Xbox 360 required users to remember where they’d stored their game save and which was more up to date. The Xbox One solves this problem. Game saves on the Xbox One’s version of Xbox Live are managed by the console itself. Like gamescore or Xbox Live Gold, those saves are available to players on whatever Xbox One they’re logged into. The only catch? Users need an internet connection.

As an owner of both I have to say not true.
Xbox Live is better than PSN IMO, much faster downloads and more stable online. (Although PS4 download speed has improved significantly over PS3). The Achievement system still works better than trophies, I still don't understand why trophies need syncing and cant be in real time. No one likes waiting for those things to sync. Also on Xbox One it shows a progress bar for how close you are to getting the achievement which is nice on those such as "Perform 250 perfect blah blah blah" for example.
Secondly, Twitch is far superior on Xbox One. not only does it look and feel more like Twitch, you can also get involved with broadcasts from the PC and PS4 whereas on PS4 you can only watch those streaming on the PS4.

it all comes down to exclusives and that's where i have always been a sony world wide studios fan. Some gamers like halo,forza,gears,fable etc, so they go with xbox one. Nothing wrong with either choice

As a multiplatform gamer, I don't buy three times the amount of games as a single platform owner. I buy the games I like regardless of platform. When you own a single platform you are restricted to games on that system. You aren't buying less, you simply have less choice.

Good article! I've been wanting to upgrade for some while now, and now this has just confirmed my decision. Not only am I looking for a good gaming console, but a console that can do everything the Xbox One can is a no brainer. I enjoy being able to show off my console as an all in one entertainment center as well.

Also those game upcoming Xbox One exclusives are just want I've been looking for. In the future I'd consider a PS4 as a sidekick, but I do agree that Xbox is really bringing us to the next level with the amazing ability of what the console is capable of.

I had four defective 360 consoles. The 360 RROD scandal is the most malicious consumer exploitation in gaming history. It was a pure "body pile" scam to increase their sales numbers and their profits with purposely defective hardware.

Look, there are legitimate reasons to get any one of the three current gen consoles. To me, I think the PS4 is the best overall choice, but that doesn't mean I think it's objectively the right choice. As long as you, as a consumer, weigh the pros and cons respectably then you should feel good about whatever console you ultimately decide on.

And if you can get more than one, then all the better.

X1 definitely should be 1st console. It has better everything aside from graphics. Last gen PS3 definitely had an edge in the single player exclusives, but X1 is at least on the same level for now. I think this will tip back Sony's way with Uncharted and Beast but X1 will continue to be head and shoulders better in the multiplayer arena and they are just getting starting with the cloud servers. Titanfall has rec'd a lot of criticism for being multiplayer only but it is game changer and the cloud server alone separates it from other top tiers like COD by a bazillion. I plan to pick up a PS4 years from now to enjoy their single player hits. There is not enough time for WiiU so the smart play is to skip it this gen and enjoy the handful of hits like Zelda, Starfox, Mario as downloadable classics on their next system while also enjoy their next gen games. I enjoy strategy and find this to be the most optimal plan, but in the end it's where your preferences and friends are that you should be. Any time "true gamer" is mentioned it's time to stop listening.

When I worked at GameStop most of the employees had Xbox360 but I bought a Playstation 3 because I'm a gear head who loves cars so Gran Turismo was my game since Playstation 1. That didn't stop me from wanting to get a Xbox360 the red rings of death was my main reason. I saw people returning broken 360s every day and we were shipping 12 to 15 systems out daily. FPS games have always been plagued with the P2P model... in Halo, the host on each team would actually move faster then everyone else in game... it was only fair because each team had their own host.

Considering most UK Internet service providers are rolling out 50meg as a standard now... Dedicated servers will be hella awesome! I expect 11ms ping... which is nothing when considering I used to play counterstrike on the PC with a 70ms ping and get on just fine.

So the fact that your title is phrased the way it is tells me all I need to know about what it may or may not contain.

Maybe you truly were not aware just how poorly that phrase is taken with the industry, or maybe it is a clickbait headline.

Either way from one journalist to another if you want to be taken seriously by anyone you really don't want to use categorical stereotypes like that.

There are many more gamers than there used to be, and I am thankful for all of them. The more people that play games the more the industry will boom and thrive. Whether they play the AAA titles, indie games, farmville, call of duty makes no difference to me. As long as they enjoy the game they are playing that is really all that matters in the end.

Loved the 360, but I wont be upgrading, I wont buy their console or their lies. Microsoft really thought they owned the market and that people would buy what ever they sold, didn't work that way... Between trying to push DMR, forcing their unwanted Kinect, lying to their customers with the whole "cloud will make the X1 50% more powerfull!" and trying to create hype by announcing that their console was "sold out" at retailers around launch, when every one was going in stores and seeing stacks of them, they lost a lot of their customer base. They have back-tracked on most of it, but only because of the massive amount of negative feedback that they received. Look how long people have been asking them to take down their app paywall, Finally after 6 years they remove it. They are only listening to their customers now, because the competition is out selling them 2-1.

I had all 3 consoles + pc last gen, this gen i have downsized and simply chose to go pc + ps4 maybe in the future when they drop to sub $200 ill pick the other 2 up but for me pc/ps4 is the right combo this current gen. i do like all the additions in features x1 has improved over 360's though. I think 360 owners should advance when they feel ready to, and pick what ever they fancy when entering this generation.

More to the point, I think a "real" gamer is anyone that has a passion for games, regardless of the platform(s). If people think that isn't the case then they're more concerned with brands and loyalty than gaming.

Personally, I'll invest in a platform that I want to play a game on, generally speaking that's every platform that comes out. If the manufacturer were exploiting child labour or destroying the planet more than any other then I'd probably boycott on that basis.

Microsoft knocked out one the negative aspects (price). They also lost one of the advantages they had (100% kinect ownership).

Sony still has a more powerful console, more indies, more exclusives and a better subscription service.

Only reason to get an Xbox One is if you want the exclusives they have. And maybe to "SNAP TV".
