destiny beta for all ps+ members :3 alpha was great!

randomass1713597d ago

Sadly I'll be missing out on the beta, but I'm not deterred. My hope is to get that awesome looking white PS4/Destiny bundle! :D

AliTheSnake13597d ago

Next time, put EUROPE in the title.

medman3596d ago

I agree the white ps4 looks great. But even if I didn't already have a ps4, I wouldn't buy it simply for the fact it would stick out like a sore thumb in my entertainment setup. That is the one drawback for me personally. Also, I imagine that white ps4 controller would show up all types of dirt and scratches pretty easily. I'm going to be all over the blue controller though.

BISHOP-BRASIL3596d ago

I believe the purpose of electronics in white is to stick out (just like cuisine utensiles and apparel in black or other colors), not that I like it any better than you, just saying it has it's ownn charm for it's own public.

Personally, I avoid most electronics in white, not that they necessarily look bad, but they stay pretty for about a month and after that it's a lost fight against dust (and even worse for me, tabacco smoke, it ruins white or light colored stuff in the whole room) that will eventually stain everything.

randomass1713596d ago

My reasoning is kind of silly, but a PS4 is a PS4. I already have a black Wii U so I thought it would be a neat twist to get a white PS4. Last gen some people had a white Wii a black PS3 and many have a black 360 slim. Anyway, this bundle also comes with Destiny and I can't wait to play the heck out of that.

Destiny beta will NOT be open to everyone with PS+

PS EU community manager: "The Destiny Beta will be available via pre-order only. The blog post is worded incorrectly and will be amended"

https://twitter.com/Envisag...

sonarus3596d ago

yea. I hate pre ordering unless i have to. I got a little excited there when he said free for all ps +.

admiralvic3597d ago

Sad to see the rumor of Strider and Towerfall was accurate, but at least it looks like a good month for EU. Also looks like they got a third PS4 game via Doki Doki.

dodgemoose3597d ago

Can't speak for Towerfull, but can confirm Strider is really good having played through the trial twice.

admiralvic3597d ago

Well aware. I have the PS4 version and already platinumed it ( http://psnprofiles.com/trop... ).

slimeybrainboy3596d ago

Seen some Towerfall gameplay, looks great. Simple fun.

jonatan2213596d ago

Well when you think about it, what other games could you offer for ps4?

I think both seem like great additions, but it's understandable that not everyone will be pleased. I wasn't pleased with Stick it to the man, but I'm excited for this month!

TheFutureIsBlue3596d ago

Stick it to the Man was actually pretty good. Not a lot to do with gameplay, but the story and art was original, funny, and I enjoyed it a lot.

admiralvic3596d ago (Edited 3596d ago )

"Well when you think about it, what other games could you offer for ps4?"

I would be cool with one of the remaining confirmed, but not yet out titles like Secret Ponchos or Binding of Isaac. I would also be okay with Blue Estate, Transistor, Child of Light, Fez and Guacamelee (this releases the day the Plus titles come out, so it was certainly possible).

I think some people need to realize that just because something negative is said and I got to say, using the term sad is about as shallow as negative responses go, it isn't like I am asking the world of Sony either. I was just sad to see a game I already own go free and was hoping to see something like Secret Ponchos (it was suppose to be out Q1 and was playable at PAX, so it should be close) come this month. Thats it... not asking the world, hardly asking much at all really.

jonatan2213596d ago

@TheFuture

I understand since my brother loved it, but like I said it just wasn't my type of game. Everyone has different tastes.

@admiralvic

I understand you're not asking Sony for the world, but at the same time these games came out a couple months ago so it makes sense to release these for ps plus. So I understand your sad to see that, but I think it'll be the same throughout you know? You might buy secret ponchos now or transistor and then it becomes free in couple of months because Sony can't afford to make recent releases part of ps plus.

admiralvic3595d ago

-rolls eyes-

Why don't you come out and say I am not allowed to be disappointed, because thats pretty much what you're saying. I mean, if you look at the PS4 Plus history, you would see that every free game was free on release besides Trine 2, so asking for a newer release (some of which released in March) is far from unreasonable. Especially considering Binding of Isaac and Secret Ponchos are already confirmed to be Plus titles and Microsoft is offering Guacamelee as part of their Games with Gold.

In the end, all I am saying is that I'm sad to see the rumor is true because I had one of the games and had hopes something I was looking forward to would be released. I think it's BS that I really have to fight for my right to say I am sad or disappointed as my expectations are totally in check and reasonable.

Not a great update in my opinion, as a PS3 and Vita owner.

Vita gets another terrible port of a 3DS Lego game, and a game that's also available on PS3/PS4 anyway with Cross-play.
The only actual Vita game were getting is Lego Batman, a game with 62% on metacritic (What happened to only 70+ games for PS+?). Why can't we get Disgaea 3 or Plants VS Zombies or something half decent like US got?

Dead Space is alright, but now PS3 owners have one less game (Used to be three, now it's two) the least they could do would be to give us another AAA game instead of yet another 2D indie platformer.

Not a happy bunny. Sony are being rather cheap with PS+ recently, which makes no sense, because the service is bigger than ever now.

DualWielding3597d ago

Europe has gotten Dragon Crown and Muramasa last two months for Vita while in NA we have only gotten indies so you are better of in Europe if you are Vita owner

Blastoise3597d ago (Edited 3597d ago )

At least they're good indies.

Terraria & Mutant mudds Deluxe for Vita VS Lego Batman 2? I know which one I'd prefer

admiralvic3596d ago

"The only actual Vita game were getting is Lego Batman, a game with 62% on metacritic (What happened to only 70+ games for PS+?)."

The "70+ rule" is sort of tricky. I've heard documents say that Plus will have only 70+ games, though most times it's just the clarified meaning of "top rated games" when Sony uses that in advertising. With that being said, there could be extenuating circumstances that cause this to happen, such as a last minute swap or Sony making a judgement call (like ModNation probably would have hit 70 flat if there weren't a few extremely low reviews).

"Not a happy bunny. Sony are being rather cheap with PS+ recently, which makes no sense, because the service is bigger than ever now."

Not really fair to comment, since we don't actually know what Sony is paying to get these games, nor do we know what companies want for games not offered.

"At least they're good indies."

I would say Dragon's Crown and Muramasa are better games than anything offered for the Vita in NA over the last 5 / 6 months.

Blastoise3596d ago (Edited 3596d ago )

Well Sony have already said half of PS4 owners are subscribed to plus, so that's £40/$60 times what? 4 million consoles? and that's not even counting the PS3 and Vita owners who have paid for Plus.

They're being cheap

As for Vita, yeah Dragons Crown and Muramasa were good picks, I agree. Doesn't change the fact that Lego Batman is pretty damn weak though, as the only Vita game this month

admiralvic3596d ago

"Well Sony have already said half of PS4 owners are subscribed to plus, so that's £40/$60 times what? 4 million consoles? and that's not even counting the PS3 and Vita owners who have paid for Plus. "

Lets not get into the mathematics and semantics of things, since there are many details we don't know. For instance, I own a Vita / PS3 / PS4 and a lot of people own multiple consoles, which naturally raises the adoption rate of something like PlayStation Plus. We don't currently know how many of that supposed figure are unique PS4 subscribers (as in recently adopted PS+ and only own a PS4), so your whole argument is based off nothing. There is a lot more to this, but arguing about theoretical elements is absurdly tedious. Especially when you're looking at Plus as a 1:1 free game service and overlook the fact that some money could be going to things like offering the Destiny beta for all, discounts, online multiplayer (while I'm not a fan of paying to play online, servers do cost money) and other things offered to + subscribers.

" I agree. Doesn't change the fact that Lego Batman is pretty damn weak though, as the only Vita game this month"

It's Batman and Doki Doki (3x cross buy) and many months have weak offerings. Doesn't change the fact that Muramasa and DC were both great games and NA has also got some losers (like Mutant Mudd).

Goro3597d ago (Edited 3597d ago )

Was there ever an update in the previous 2 years in which you didn't think was great?

Why Dead Space 3 Will Be the Hardest to Remake

If EA and Motive Studio plan on remaking all the main Dead Space entries, they have to change a lot of what made Dead Space 3 so divisive.

Simple, do not bother with a Dead Space 3 remake. Rather have a new entry for Dead Space.

myfathersbastard419d ago

Yeah I agree. Make a dead space 3, but have an original story/setting. They’ve proven they can do the game justice, and I think they could evolve 2 in a good direction, keeping a similar tone. I’d love s Dead Space 2 and 3 though. The remake was fantastic. Top tier remake, up there with RE2.

jznrpg419d ago

Remaking 3 would need to be a reworked and somewhat changed remake as 3 was flawed in most peoples eyes and the worst entry.

Ninver419d ago

It's the worst in the series.

Dead Space 3, A Ten Year Reunion

WTMG's Kyle Nicol:

"Was Dead Space 3 really that bad?

Well, it’s a complicated question. Dead Space 3 is undeniably the weakest of the trilogy. It’s a game that deviates so far from the original formula, that it throws a lot of what made Dead Space special in the first place out of the window. Although, where it does make up for it is one of the best cooperative shooters on the market, even after all this time. Do I recommend playing this game ten years later? Hell yes. But make sure your expectations are in the right place. It has a lot of problems that bring it down."
