More Watch Dogs PS4 Animated GIFs 'Leaked'; Show Amazing Day And Night Footage

GearNuke: "Apparently some lucky individual has already got his hands full with Watch Dogs on the PS4, and he is sharing his videos online. Thanks to this leaker, we can see how Watch Dogs looks on the PS4, and determine it on our own if it is worthy to be called a “downgrade” or not."

I can see the decentness in these screenshots, damn these GIFs look good man, really does!

Eonjay3637d ago

Agreed. I like this one:
http://i0.wp.com/giant.gfyc...

And I didn't know car's had cockpit view.

Dee_913636d ago (Edited 3636d ago )

Holy hell! had no clue the cars had cockpit view !! http://i1.wp.com/giant.gfyc...
Not sure how I feel about the bloody screen http://i1.wp.com/giant.gfyc...

I would rather a simple health bar..I know this may be an early version and just a few gifs but, there aren't as many pedestrians as I hoped.Still pumped tho

ZodTheRipper3636d ago

I never worried about the game, especially after the delay ...some delays went bad but with this one I always had a good feeling. Took 2 days off from work to play this on release =)

Anthotis3636d ago

Oh.My.Stars...this looks gooood.

I'm guessing the delay was worth it.

ThanatosDMC3636d ago

Ubisoft is really trying to hype this game up. I'll wait for my clanmates to tell me if it's worth it.

bloop3636d ago

@Dmarc That's the only thing worrying me about this game now. Where the hell are all the pedestrians?!?! Everytime I see new footage/gifs I get excited and then realise the streets are empty. I hope it's not going to be a ghost town.

mikeslemonade3636d ago

Looks like a up-res GTA5 which is about what I am expecting. Not necessarily a good or bad thing. Just that I can't wait for better looking games.

thorstein3636d ago

@bloop

I don't believe that you can't see the pedestrians. They are on most street corners acting like pedestrians in the middle of the day.

And we have seen pedestrians aplenty on PS4 footage. They happen to be in more pedestrian areas of the city. (pun intended.)

thorstein3636d ago

Here is a street view of downtown Chicago. Now compare that to what we see in the game.

Much agreed. Cannot wait for the 27th, the anticipation is killing me, that and Wolfenstein on the 20th, can't wait to shred some Nazis.

Ghost_Nappa3636d ago

"agent blaskowitz, whats your status?"
"Well, I'm on the motherfuckin moon"

starchild3636d ago

This PS4 version looks great. I don't think it looks much different than the original E3 demo (especially that first gif of Aiden walking in the rain at night). It seems people over-exaggerate in their minds how good the E3 demo looked since it was some of the first next gen graphics that we had seen at that point. The final game looks very similar overall and I think it looks great.

husomc3636d ago

apart from the fact that the entire city is barren... where are all the people ? the E3 demo was teeming with ppl

ScottyHoss3636d ago

@husomc my assumption (just wishful thinking) is that you can either change the amount of civis or its a certain district or area without as many

imt5583636d ago (Edited 3636d ago )

This is info posted on GAF from guy who play Watch Dogs beta. But he removed post because of security reasons.

So, let's go :

Allright info on the graphics

- The gifs look great but the actual game is lacking graphically.

- The daytime looks crossgen on both versions.

- Nighttime and dusk look amazeballs!! Especially when you're taking it all in while sailing on the water.(Did I mention that the water looks incredible)

- Xbone has screen tearing and rumble triggers ( i read on GAF that Xbone version also has problems with framedrops ).

- PS4 version has less jaggies than the Xbone version but still jagged.

- Please note this the beta with the unfinished graphics!

A little later :

full impressions of the ps4 beta

- Framerate is solid. Haven't encountered any areas where there's any drops at all. No screen tearing either.

- The aliasing is pretty bad, but again this could be due to the downgraded beta.

- Some areas look fantastic, others not so much. In some areas the textures look flat. Again tho, could be due to the fact its the beta. Overall tho the game looks really good.

- Being hunted by the police chopper at night as it's scanning with its search light is damn impressive. Police chases are a lot of fun. If you time your hack correct ( changing traffic lights, activating security bollards etc ) the camera will switch to a slow mo shot of the cops as they crash and burn. The overall AI of the cops seems really good.

- The pedestrians of Chicago are quite abundant too. There's lots more people walking the streets than there is in GTAV for instance. One of the early tutorials has you trying to find a hacker who has hacked into your phone. It leads you too a small open park type area and there was at least 50+ NPCs wandering around. But yeah the city seems "alive" I guess.

- One of the multiplayer modes ( 1 v 1 ) has you hack into a rivals phone and initiate a backdoor exploit. Once you do this, the rival will know he's being hacked and will try to hunt you down and kill you before the exploit succeeds ( hits 100% ). You cannot kill them or it's a mission fail. All of this takes place in a radius from the person your hacking, which you cannot leave or you'll lose the signal. The area radius gets smaller the longer you keep the hack going for, so you've got to be careful and keep out of sight of the person your hacking. If your spotted a chase will ensue with you trying to get as much distance between yourself and your rival so as not to be shot dead.

- There's no in game music unless your in a vehicle from what I can tell. I wasn't keen on the music so I turned it off.

http://abload.de/img/untitl...

Digital Foundry test will be interesting. If the PS4 version has rock solid framerate i hope that in the near future for 1080p patch just like for AC IV.

Thread is here :

MasterCornholio3636d ago

PS4 version sounds great so far but I hope they fix the Xbox Ones versions framerate issue. Nobody want to play this game in the teens if you know what I mean.

warczar3636d ago

"- The pedestrians of Chicago are quite abundant too. There's lots more people walking the streets than there is in GTAV for instance."

That's funny they say that because judging by the GIF's and videos I've seen today the city looks pretty empty. Don't get me wrong, what's there looks good just empty. Not too many crowded streets or traffic jams to worry about in this game.

lelo3636d ago (Edited 3636d ago )

LOL.

I guess now we call "leaked" to Ubisoft doing damage control.

BTW in the 2nd gif, was he shooting at ironman?

Gazondaily3637d ago

Looks decent you know. Not as mind blowing as we were showing a couple of years back but still decent.

Lets hope it plays decently too.

frostypants3636d ago (Edited 3636d ago )

I thought they were going to be using an actual map of Chicago, but that 4th screenshot shows a street that doesn't exist. No real street approaches the Sears Tower from that angle...that part of Chicago is entirely a grid layout. I was afraid they'd just throw in some Chicago landmarks and call it a day, and it appears I was right. I thought they'd at least get the Loop (main business district) right but apparently even that is somewhat made up. Kind of a bummer. Still looks fun.

NexGen3636d ago

*Willis Tower :p

I can't stop calling it Sears myself still.

BiggCMan3636d ago

Do people complain that games that take place in New York aren't an exact replica? Jesus, stop acting so entitled and go build your own game with a replicated Chicago why don't you. All cuz of a misrepresented street, I swear.

frostypants3636d ago (Edited 3636d ago )

@NexGen: I'll never call it anything but the Sears Tower. Ever. Yeah, technically it's Willis now, and in a few years it will likely be the United Tower. But it will always be the Sears Tower.

@BiggCMan: They're the ones bragging about the game taking place in a real city, not me. What's the point in doing so it it's not even remotely accurate? Also, your "build your own game" comment is asinine...such an idiotic statement could be made about anyone criticizing anything about a game.

BiggCMan3636d ago

Not even remotely accurate?? Are freaking serious??? ONE STREET?? Unbelievable.

heisenberguk3636d ago

They never claimed anything of the sort!

DaleCooper3637d ago

The gifs do look great. First I was hyped for the game, then the delay killed my hype, now these leaks are bringing the hype back!

hello123637d ago

Downgrade from E3 yes.

Resolution been lowered doesn't mean graphics look worse, its only good for draw distance.

You can optimise graphics by lowering resolution on consoles. I think the devs optimised the visuals for console.

MidnytRain3636d ago

We should all start playing games at 2x2 so the graphics will be amazing.

hello123636d ago

Higher resolution makes the image much clearer or "sharper", that's it.

Graphics don't change, with a higher resolution.

MasterCornholio3636d ago

@knws
"Higher resolution makes the image much clearer or "sharper", that's it."

And the amount of detail you can fit into the textures.

What do you think high resolution texture packs are for?

This is one or the main reasons why skyrim looks so amazing on PC with them.

Braid3636d ago (Edited 3636d ago )

KNWS,

Just take a look at what you say, man. You're saying that higher resolution is only good for draw distance, and yet you overlook the fact that Watch Dogs is an open-world game and the draw distance is one of the most (if not the most) important aspect of its genre. Resolution does matter even more when it comes to open world games, because we'd like to see what lies ahead down at the end of the streets rather than a blurry or pixelated mess of an image conveniently hidden by a fog/depth of field effect. Not saying WD will be like that as I haven't played it yet, but I'm sure 1080p would make a hell of a difference.

starchild3636d ago

Of course 1080p would be better, but 900p is nothing to sneeze at. The game still looks excellent on the PS4.

jeromeface3636d ago

It's not a downgrade from e3... E3 was the pc build.

Dynasty20213636d ago (Edited 3636d ago )

No downgrade on the PC version it seems.

The biggest downgrade is the lighting, as everyone is complaining about it, and the lighting is miles better on the PC version due to their work with Nvidia.

Even Ubisoft have flat out said that the PC version looks far better.

Also, 60+ FPS.

It looks fantastic on the PS4, less so on the Xbox (duh), but the jaggies and 30 FPS are annoying, even if it's what you can expect for a good couple of years.

Watch Dogs Deserves A Remake, More Than Ever

With the world of information and technology, privacy and security growing every day, Watch Dogs deserves another chance in the spotlight, now more than ever.

RaidenBlack1007d ago

The only Ubi title that deserves a faithful remake right now is Splinter Cell 1.
All 2014+ Ubi titles are just underwhelming. Especially ones from 2016+ are just cancer.

LucasRuinedChildhood1006d ago (Edited 1006d ago )

Seriously, are we so far removed from Ubisoft actually making good games that people now praise Watch_Dogs in retrospect?

"Watch_Dogs has remained one of my favourite games of the last ten years." Jesus Christ.

HankHill1006d ago

I remember being so disappointed in Watch Dogs when I played it at release. It was alright, but I think I fell for the hype and I needed a game to play on my new PS4.

obidanshinobi1006d ago

This is what happens when mediocrity gets praised as good.
Standards are slipping across the whole entertainment industry.
What was once considering rubbish is now considered as OK, what once was OK is now being praised as good etc etc.

LamerTamer1006d ago

Everyone has their own likes. I liked it a lot myself. I played through it twice and liked the car chases and the open world with fairly decent environments and missions. It suffered from the whole downgrade thing where they showed graphics that weren't actually there. No game will appeal to everyone but it was still ambitious for it's time.

gantarat1006d ago

assassin's creed 1 should get a remake.

ExBee1006d ago

For certain! AC1 was brilliant at the time but with new graphics and gameplay it would be amazing! Do you prefer old combat or new though?

RaidenBlack1006d ago

I'd say a reimagining of AC1.
I direct AC1 remake would be a bad idea. It'll need better story pacing and significant better world building.

BlaqMagiq11006d ago

Old. Let it play like how it did with AC2-Syndicate style gameplay but refine the setting and story.

Profchaos1006d ago

It would need a lot changed for it to be enjoyable again as even back in 2007 on launch we were all complaining about it's repetitive gameplay go here perform one of three side quests repeat then assassination now do it over and over until a big battle with a unforgiving checkpoint system.

BlaqMagiq11006d ago

Absolutely. It needs it. The only AC I truly didn't enjoy.

chicken_in_the_corn1006d ago

I'd prefer it didn't. Ubisoft would make it so bloated, it wouldn't be anywhere near the original

smolinsk1006d ago (Edited 1006d ago )

Absolutely, this watch dogs legion was terrible boring.

Profchaos1006d ago (Edited 1006d ago )

As a fan of the franchise legion was garbage and I regretted my purchase for the first time in the franchise the entire thing felt like an experiment in NPC behaviour and released without the writers input on what makes a good story.

I don't think I'm alone in that feeling though as wrench and Aiden are brought back and the campaign was rewritten to fit them.

I am tempted to buy the season pass to play it again with Aiden but fool me twice shame on me I'm waiting for a deep sale

camel_toad1006d ago

Agreed. Despite the annoying hipness of the characters in part 2 I thought it was a really fun game. I was extremely disappointed and surprised at how many steps back they took with Legion. You'd think it was made by an entirely different team. Or was it?

It was just so devoid of fun.

LamerTamer1006d ago

Honestly one of my biggest annoyances with Legion is that they took out the camera views for the driving. I mean the behind the car view that they stuck us with is near unplayable. I always used a first person driving view. After two releases why did they take OUT features? I don't get it.

TheSinsibleOne1006d ago

The fist watchdog game was the best by far
After that they weren't weird and annoying with that hipster stuff. Aiden was a badass.

LamerTamer1006d ago

I thought so at first too. I got used to it and it ended up being good after some play time. I just had to give it a chance.

TheEnigma3131006d ago

Remake the PoP series from xbox/ps2/gc era

RaidenBlack1006d ago

They are remaking Sands of Time.

TheEnigma3131006d ago

That's good news. Hopefully it's done right.

Inside the Driver game that died so that Watch Dogs could live

From VG247: "When cars slide, they leave tyre marks. In a game like Driver, they’re an aesthetic touch, part of the inherent cool of a handbrake turn. But those dark shadows in the road also tell a story. From tyre marks, you can determine the speed of a vehicle, when it started to skid, and its ultimate direction of travel – long after the car itself has vanished into the distance."

vallencer1071d ago

Different spellings in different parts of the world friend. Tyre is a correct way to spell it.

Pridefall1071d ago

Dunno why you got downvpted when tyre is correct in Australia.

neutralgamer19921071d ago

Give us driver San Francisco remastered

IGiveHugs2NakedWomen1071d ago

Why did they stop making some of the best games ever? Driver was one of them.

Gameseeker_Frampt1070d ago

Assassins Creed 2 showed Ubisoft how to make money and Far Cry 2 showed them that gamers don't like complex ideas. Now Ubisoft just turns out games that are just variations of the same thing.

WeAreLegion1071d ago

Best driving mechanics ever made. Nothing has come close.

Gardenia1071d ago

A story driven game with pure driving gameplay. I'd love to see a new Driver game or a remake of the first one.

ApocalypseShadow1071d ago

Yes. This one. A definite remake of the first without adding any ridiculous fluff. The first game had great physics and sound for its time. The start of the car in the beginning cinema I watched constantly. My father and uncles were big muscle and classic car freaks. Only thing crazy about the game was the relentless cops in the last level. Insane the way those police cars were and launched at you.

Bleemcast made it look better just like PC emulators. But would definitely take a remake.
