Project CARS vs Assetto Corsa Comparison Video

DSOGaming writes: "YouTube's 'ADRIANF1esp' has made a comparison between Project CARS and Assetto Corsa. Assetto Corsa is a PC exclusive DX11 racing game that comes with an amazing physics model and is more of a sim racer. Project CARS, on the other hand, is a visually stunning title that targets PC and next-gen consoles."

Project Cars is not getting me excited...

Sharingan_no_Kakashi3780d ago

I wanna be excited for it cuz it's so pretty but while the cars effects look good the environments look bland. I don't even know what kind of modes this game has (but that's prolly just me being too lazy to google it.)

Both games look great, I have been playing Assetto corsa on my eyefinity setup. Assetto Corsa is amazing for PC gamers looking for a next gen Simulator.

Specially it comes with tons of customization, mods etc. for 3 screen setups the hud is completely customizable something we dont see on most racers.

pennywhyz3780d ago

I couldnt agree with you more.I havnt played Pr.cars but AC for sure is more then a next gen sim.The only thing that sux is we have to wait for release. Lol

BallsEye3780d ago

THe problem project cars has is that tre leaves has no translucent textures, makes them look too solid.

sigfredod3780d ago

Yeah, i was impress by the reflections effects on the windshield of AC, the way simulate the dirt and scratchs wow, also you can see the driver hands actually using the shift paddles on AC, at beta stage AC its looking better, lets wait for the final versions to give the veredict

anyone know if this is project cars on pc or console version?

pennywhyz3780d ago

PC if ya want the true real experience.

darkstar183780d ago

i mean i getting the wii u version when this drops, i was just wondering.

ShinMaster3780d ago

I saw quite a bit of aliasing. You sure you want PC to take the credit?

decrypt3780d ago (Edited 3780d ago )

@shinmaster

Both the games are in Alpha stages, I know Assetto Corsa suffers from Aliasing unless you turn on sparse Gridsupersampling which makes the game look beautiful.

In the end it will be the PC version of Project cars that will be the definitive version.

Skate-AK3780d ago

PC. They have never showed any kind of console footage.

memots3780d ago (Edited 3780d ago )

The speed feeling is way off for Project cars.
i actually had read the speedometer to make sure it was right.

Asseto Corsa might seem a little static that but that is because none of the environment details are on yet. Its a great game.

TXIDarkAvenger3780d ago

Just got Asseto Corsa, its really great with a wheel.

Assetto Corsa is bloody amazing, Specially if you have an Nvidia GPU and turn on 4x GridSupersampling via Nvinspector (dont know how to do that with AMD), that makes the game look amazing.

Follow some of the instructions on this page:

http://www.gtplanet.net/for...

In-game settings:

1- Turn off HDR and Motion Blur (both options are causing that blurry aspect);
2- Set Anisostropic Filtering to 2x (it's VERY resource intensive on this game, don't know why);
3- Set Shadows to High and AA to 4x;
4- Turn off Vertical Sync (use NVIDIA Inspector's one instead);
5- Turn off "Lock Onboard Camera to Horizon";
6- Set Cubemap Resolution to Low (very resource intensive) and Faces per Frame to 6 (for real-time car reflections);

NVIDIA Inspector:

1- Create a profile for Assetto Corsa (add both acs.exe and acShowroom.exe);
2- Set AA Transparency Supersampling to 4x Sparse Grid Supersampling (say goodbye to jaggies and ugly shadows);
3- Set Vertical Sync Tear Control to Adaptive or On (optional).

pennywhyz3780d ago

AC is fukin awsome.Cant wait til its done.

MadSientist893780d ago

im not liking the Need for speed shift sounds on project cars... all cars have that identical engine whine >.> and the shocks bouncing sound like they are rusted to hell.

Cool.
Add PSVR2 support to ACC and I might play it.

ApocalypseShadow405d ago

Same. Good sales. But if they are smart, they'll release a VR update on console for PS VR 2. Get more sales. More money.

TheColbertinator406d ago

Impressive series and well known for being challenging

ChiefofLoliPolice406d ago

Jesus really? Damn I didn't know Assetto Corsa was that popular. Now that I look at the sales numbers and the sheer about of mods for the PC version I guess I can see it now.

Obscure_Observer405d ago

Really impressive numbers.

There´re more racing simulators fans out there than most racing games studios acknowledges.

Father__Merrin405d ago (Edited 405d ago )

Wish AC1 was at least one X enhanced but it's only sold a lot because of its price
