Decent deal, if Microsoft improves their offerings with Xbox Live Gold... like a couple of recent games a month (to compete with PS+).

BTW, does the X1 have a release date for Japan ?

Poor people working at Xbox Japan. It must be like trying to woo the head cheerleader and your just the ugly nerd. She'll never like you MS !! Stop trying. It's not worth the effort. But your persistence is commendable. Or stupid.

drsfinest723804d ago

The dumbest shit I've ever read. So competition isn't good for gamers thatsw hat you're implying?

T23804d ago

That's not what he said.
Fact : Japan hates xboX just look at sales.

Competition is fine but it's not from MS

coolasj3804d ago

There's a lot of factors in play when it comes to Microsoft and Japan. The chief ones being their general move away from home consoles into handhelds, and the fact that they love buying things from their own nation. There are people in Japan that pride themselves on buying only Japanese product. Microsoft has an Xbox Division in Japan. And they try, and try, and try, and persist. But it has gotten them nowhere significant. There IS no competition with MS for Japan.

The WiiU has almost sold more in Japan than the 360 over it's entire lifetime.

grimmweisse3804d ago

@coolasj

Well that is how it used to be or with older generations. Public mentality has changed, Japanese don't just buy Japanese products over products from other countries for the sake of pride anymore, Apple is pretty much dominate in the mobile phones and laptop categories in Japan. A recent survey in Japan had almost all top 10 places in each category be an Apple products of different variations. iPhones and MacBooks rule here in Tokyo.

Although the console market is generally different, Japanese consumers will jump to another product if they find it attractive enough. The Xbox one is feel won't be.

@coolasj

Every time I see somebody say what you just said, it makes me want to choke a kitten.

People in Japan don't only but Japanese products. Stop spreading BS.

MS will never compete in Japan but that doesnt mean they should quit all together.

It would totally send the wrong message to gamers and developers that they dont care about the region and give a great impression of weakness. There are a lot of Japanese developers that still bring games to Japan on Xbox. If MS gives up on them they might do the same in turn, and not support the console at all knowing they wont reach fans in their own country.

I'm afraid supporting Japan is just a pill MS has to swallow if they want to stay in this industry.

gta28003804d ago

Cool. I'm sure the 500 xbox owners in Japan will be thrilled about this.

Scatpants3804d ago

I think Titanfall might move some xbox ones in Japan. They love that kind of crap.

hooba933804d ago

actually no, the japanese hate western shooters like CoD and titanfall. that s one o the main reason why the 360 doesn't sell. Their "exclusives" (mainly 1st person shooters) don't interest them at all

Scatpants3803d ago

I was referring to the mech aspect of the game. I read that there were long lines to play it at the Tokyo game show.

More interested in money than giving fans what they want. Such a shame

CrimsonWing694d ago

With the amount of money they generated, I just don’t understand the scrubbing of this. It would’ve been fantastic for fans.

Profchaos4d ago

I really want to know who drove the decision to focus on multiplayer was it Rockstar or take two.

Because when online started taking off many of the studio leads began having falling outs and leading including a founder

Demetrius3d ago

Ikr mfs that greedy it's ridiculous

andy854d ago

This makes me sad. Trevor was one of my favourite characters in gaming

Demetrius3d ago

One of the reason I believe once gta 6 release, most of us thoroughly play it, enjoy the world they crafted then after that no offline support, no dlc at all
