Killzone: Shadow Fall download to be split into single-player and multiplayer

Killzone: Shadow Fall, a PS4 launch title, will allow users to choose which part of the game – single-player or multiplayer – they download first, a new PS4 interface video has revealed. (Killzone: Shadow Fall, PS4)

This is a great move, and definitely aids the whole download while you play mantra.

What will be interesting, however, is if Sony might consider having both priced separately, do if you are only interested in one or the other you only need to invest in that.

Yeah that could be cool!

This is great. More options for gamers!

Not something they're completely against.

Starhawk got split like this and Killzone 3 and Uncharted 3 had multiplayer separate as well.

I think they'll continue to give those options where they can.

this is how games should be priced. people complain about online pass but I say sell the game cheaper and have all online sections as an extra you don't have to buy. why should single player gamers keep paying for half a game they don't play.

This is an excellent strategy and one that baffles me why other publishers do not offer.

Battlefield, Ive never been interested in the singleplayer portion of the game, I only played BF3s sp so I could get the platinum

I wouldnt of bought BF3 if it hadnt of included mp
green  +   556d ago
That is good but i think it would be better to (in some cases) offer three purchase options

Option 1: Single player only (download only)
Option 2: Multiplayer only (download only)
Option 3: Single player + Multiplayer (download and retail package)

Nifty move.

Cool, it's good for the people who don't want to pay for online, so they have the option to only pay for the single player for a cheaper price. Very good idea.

I think you still pay for the full game. You just get to choose which part to download first so you can play what you want quicker in terms of singleplayer or mp

I wish it was possible to pay for sp only , i wanna get all good titles before the mp.
Karpetburnz  +   556d ago
Oh, we'll It would be a good idea to sell single player and multiplayer individually.
Braid  +   556d ago
You download them both and pay the full price. It's just you choose which part to download so that you can start with the section you want to try first without waiting for the other part to be downloaded. Saves you some time.

But if you buy it on disc? do you still have to download FROM the disk or can you play without downloading? Either way this is sweet, i can now just download singleplayer while im playing MP.

Play without downloading.
