Best game that I have ever experienced. This was a life changing game for me and I truly mean that.

AceofStaves4007d ago

Xenogears was much more than a game. It was something to experience, as TheOne said above. It dealt with some very mature themes, especially given the console and time of its release, and its soundtrack is some of the best game music I've ever heard.

That being said, Disk 2 is a real trial-by-ordeal between all the narration and the relative lack of save points. But even those quibbles can't detract from its overall greatness.

TheOneWhoIsTornApart4006d ago

Yea the second disc was rushed but I still really enjoyed it and liked the way they handled it. The music like you said is absolutley amazing and how could we expect anything less from the composer of Chrono Cross and Chrono Trigger. When that message appeared on the blackened screen and the end of the game that said The End of Episode V I nearly had a heart attack. I immediately wanted to know more about it so I did some research and it was episode 5 of a 6 episode story. I think the best thing ever would be if a sequel to Xenogears is made they should make it of episode 6 and rely heavily on episode 1 for the main mysteries of the story. Xenogears incorporated parts of ep 2,3,and 4 in its story but absolutley nothing is known about episode 1 and 6. So I think we need a sequel on the double because we dont know the full story yet. Sorry for replying to you with the longest post ever lol but Xenogears is one of my most treasured experiences and I love discussing it.

Please Square Enix, Bring Back Xenogears

Square Enix's interest in reviving its classics is the long-awaited ray of hope and the ideal chance to resurrect adored gems like Xenogears.

CrimsonWing69264d ago

Seriously, I mean if anything an HD Remaster. I wish they had the balls to allow the entire story to be made, but I get the financial gamble won't all for it.

Terry_B263d ago

Is it even up to Square Enix?

ZeekQuattro263d ago

Xenogears is Square. Maybe you're thinking of Xenosaga which is Namco.

Tacoboto263d ago

Possibly Xenoblade, which is Nintendo.

... Also my phone wants to autocorrect to a "XenoVerse", is that another Xenofranchise?

InsaneChronos263d ago

Please don't. I will not survive another "Chrono Cross Remaster".

on_line_forever263d ago

Bring back vagrant story & parasite eve

mrcatastropheAF263d ago

Agree but do Parasite Eve first lol

I would definitely enjoy a Xenogears remaster. Recently finished Legend of Dragoon again (this time with platinum trophy) and would love to dive back into Xenogears with Fei and the rest of the crew.

closed_account293d ago

Came here to say Xenogears as well. Great taste, raWfodog!

notachance293d ago

It needs more than a remaster though, I hope they can turn disc 2 into a full game..

Kneetos293d ago (Edited 293d ago )

I wonder how they would even handle a xenogears remaster

Would they give it to monolith soft (the original developers) to handle, and more then likely make it a Nintendo exclusive, cue the endless bitching from Sony fans...

Or will they do it themselves, thus not finishing the original story as intended

raWfodog293d ago

"... and more then likely make it a Nintendo exclusive"

I would think it'd eventually hit all the platforms much like the Front Mission 1st Remake. That way no one would be 'bitching' regardless of your platform preference lol.

Miraak82 293d ago

They don't need the original people , they already have the foundation of characters ,world and lore to work off of.
Honestly it's not that big of a game if you really examine it by modern standards , it's how they present everything that makes it seem so grand especially with how epic the story/music is . SE have good writers that could incorporate post release lore of perfect works and such if they ever remade it from the ground up.

"THE BOUNCER"

scares me everytime i play it haha

Godmars290293d ago (Edited 293d ago )

Maybe this time around it could be good/playable?

Becuzisaid293d ago

Lol! What a game. Had a lot of fun with it. Beat it multiple times!

Marcello294d ago

Square Enix classics? dont they mean Squaresoft. Square Enix dont make classic games, just games with pretty graphics, no heart & soul, boring & over stuffed with woke Gen Z cockiness.

But while were on the subject i would love too see a remaster of Front Mission 3.

ZeekQuattro294d ago

They already announced a Front Mission 3 remake. Doubt they'll also do a remaster.

Marcello294d ago

I will get the remake but i still want a remaster cos with all remakes they lose a lot of the original magic the original game had.

Godmars290293d ago

Pretty sure its going to be a remaster of the game, similar to what's been done with the first two games, not a remake.

FF7r is certainly more a remake of FF7 than a remaster for instance.

Now, if they did Gun Hazard remaster...

raWfodog293d ago (Edited 293d ago )

Yeah they call it a remake like "Front Mission 1st Remake" but I'd consider it more of a remaster as it doesn't change any of the core gameplay but basically just sharpens up the graphics. I think they added a couple of new features also but I still think it's more of a remaster.

Like @Godmars290 suggested, FF7Remake fits the mold of a remake since they 'remade' the game from the ground up, changing the battle system completely, and retelling the story with a lot of different elements added.

But I guess they can call it what they want since they're making it lol.

DeadManMMX293d ago

Exactly. SquareSoft merged with Enix shortly after Final Fantasy X and it has never been the same.

Gardenia293d ago

I miss the old Squaresoft games. So much quality back then.

Terry_B294d ago

Almost all of the listed games are not Square Enix Classics lol

Cmon Square, release a 90s remastered collection and include this game

Godmars290373d ago

With Monolith at Nintendo, any number of licenses all over the place, they may not be able to.

FinalFantasyFanatic372d ago

The PS3 PSN has it, I'm hoping it ends up as a PS Classic on PS4/PS5, I really want it to happen, especially if it gets Legend of Dragoon's improvements.

sadraiden373d ago

While there are night and day improvements to textures and assets such as character portraits and maps, contrary to the article, it doesn't seem like they touch any sprites with this romhack.

FinalFantasyFanatic372d ago

This is how remasters should look, I would love to have this game on PS4/PS5, it really gives the game new life.
